I mean, We can manage. The loin cloth isn't that expensive but wool would be nice. We already got shirt, shoes and hat why not give us the full set.

But yes something undesirable rather than cool. +1

Yeah, When they die their remains should be a bunch of poo. Would be even more incentive to kill them so we could make compost with them.

But in all seriousness I think it's fine the way it is. Just gotta get people to talk, Don't let them turn 10.

Kill off silent kids and adults, If you don't like talking you'd only need to say something every now and then to prove your not cursed.

I'm just glad we're getting writing. I'd probably copy and paste some guides from forums onto books in the game for noobs in future generations.

I'm all for stabbing cursed babies before they get a chance to grow up. One problem is what if they run to someone else or the local nurse to get fed. The Average town nurse will feed all kids without question so even if you  ask them to talk they can still live.
That's a problem with just "step out for food" it should be "step out and say F for food".

Anyway I think even adults should be tested in case a cursed did manage to make it. Even if your anti social you should probably respond to the person with the knife when they ask you how your doing. Just to confirm your not cursed.

Hi, I was Mike. Really glad you told the story of the old guard.

Did the town survive the murderings in the end?

I feel bad for not having raised the alarm about the triplets. It was obvious they were up to no good from the start (only saw them as babies), but I lied to myself thinking they might just be playing around and having a good time. They were three females and gave us much needed hope that we would endure, especially after all the stress from the cursed griefer (she was my sister, btw) and having to check every kid for curses.

On the bright side this has compelled me to make an account in the forum and I'm seeing a lot of interesting discussion on similar topics (cursed text, what is griefing, etc.).

Sup Mike, We did our best to maintain order but the violence continues to happen for generations.
Town had alot of weapons which generally causes problems eventually. There has still been alot of murder but I'm hoping it'll sort itself out.
I'm really disappointed in the triplet girls. They did a cute trick with the three of them spelling "yay" with each of there letters. I was hoping they would be a good batch of girls.

I'll probably make a bigger post with pics if you're curious to see what happened!
So we got some triplets it seems, I wonder if they were the cheerleader squad we laughed about?
One of them died to a bear (I didn't know, was busy) and the two who were left turned murderous, just like that. Thoryn stabbed a woman holding a baby, I stabbed Thoryn. Oneal got Thoryn's knives, and tried to stab me. I don't know how but I managed to survive and stabbed Oneal too. A baby girl (left behind by Hanz, the dead mother who got stabbed first) starved next to me as I was stuck in the after-murder mode.
I cursed Thoryn, people appeared on the bloody scene. I stood there and explained the best I could. Then we, three men, scattered to find out if we had a girl around. We did: Samantha.
Samantha birthed quadruplets later (boys), one was cursed. Me and Retal talked to Samantha about it, how it was really risky and they weren't even girls. So... babies got killed. One was almost left alive but I said he would probably revenge, so off he went.
This was my first murdering. And man did I have to kill people.

After that, lovely times. Lovely people, great things.
Too much Awesome can kill ya.

Yeah I saw the murders on the family tree. I figured they were griefers and then your last words confirmed it. They seemed okay when I was alive but then again, They weren't old enough to kill back then.

Gj, Beating two griefers at once tho. So they decided to grief when one of them died, interesting reasoning lol.

Also, I have a theory that the cursed quad baby was the griefer from earlier. Perhaps Mia came back with some buddies, I think twins can bypass the lineage ban.

Town was fairly well equipped with farms and livestock plus  a couple small buildings. Life  was unremarkable until I noted the presence of a cursed women, She must have stayed silent as a baby to slip through the Cracks. She claimed to have framed, typical cursed player saying they got false cursed.

Luckily A few other townsfolk where on my side for once. A guy called Mike tried to stab her but she ran, He told us she was trying to make a bow. I usually don't take that claim seriously without proof but she was cursed. Me, Mike, My son Dave had knives and a lady called Mary had a bow. We basically formed a milita to takedown Mia, Overkill perhaps but the backup was welcome.

I knew she was black  (I sound racist) but not her name. Went round and got people to talk, Made sure they weren't cursed. We searched for a bit and almost assumed she was dead, Found her behind a building hiding an arrow behind a corner. She had the nerve to call us Evil despite her being obviously cursed AND caught red handed. She tried to run but I got the stab in. She tried to say I was a griefer but she had her got.

Just a side note btw. There should be a cursed verson of the wounded speech, Easy for griefers to play victim. Anyway she bled out and the town continued.

I also had the same twins several times but they repeatedly died on me. They did eventually manage to live partial lives and have kids but they still died early. Someone birthed triplets in my oldage, They ended up griefing after my death. At least one of my son's managed to kill them. They did manage to take down a few girls tho.

Can we talk about twins/triplets/quads who went on to be productive members of society? All I ever see are horror stories, but if you manage to raise them, I personally haven't had too much trouble with multiples being griefers. I think the issue is them all standing on the same tile and not knowing which ones you've fed. One starves cause you missed picking it up, and they all peace out.

That's fine. I get it. But tell me your stories of multiples who made it through infancy and went on to help the town.

Here's mine: Tonight we had a set of quads who were born to a dying mother after a string of stabbings. I may or may not have been the last one to stab someone, so I was on murder cooldown feeling bad for these kids who had no mother to raise them. Luckily my cousin stepped up, and once I could interact with things again, I helped her feed them and brought her food so she could focus on picking each baby up one by one.

The quads, miraculously, survived that horrible ordeal. I gave one of them the only spare hat in town and called him the chosen one.

Now I'll admit that I don't have any amazing story about these boys, but they went on to be very productive. Helped the farms, brought seeds, didn't all quit when one died as a child. One of them helped me stop a griefer by nabbing her arrows and putting them in his backpack. I stabbed her. I don't normally stab that much in one life, but sometimes the stars just line up that way, you know?

Anyway, I gave chosen one my blue hat when I was old. He got killed by a boar as I was dying of old age. I saw him run past with red text: "Chosen one down!" he cried.

My last words? "Chosen one down, lol."

I'm glad we raised those boys. It was a fun life and they were fun to play with.

I just wanted to bring this up because so many people won't raise twins. I've quaded with streamers, and I like to think we know what we're doing when we spawn in. Just give us a chance if you have the resources to spare. I totally get it if you're an Eve though, really.

I've been a child of twin mothers. One time I got abandoned but an aunt saved me, Told me her Twin was new. I don't have the lineage link but they lived long lives. It's an interesting occurrence when twins reach old age and simultaneously die at 60.

I can manage twins, Triplets abd Quads are hard  Very taxing to feed 3-4 babies at once, It's difficult to save them all. If they are compotent I could raise them.

But generally I don't think it's worth it most of the time. Even if you successfully raise them there is no guarantee they will be good, They could use up all the food and cause a famine and die out in 5 mins.

Tell them you will show the how to farm, then go to the cold drop them (or lead them there). Have a full belly then just explain while they starve and die. It looks like an accident then.

This is only for educational purpose.

Usually I tell them that I'm giving them a tour or showing them where food is.

Easier as Male or old lady, Just spam pick them up or pickup and run until they die if they are noobs.

So much effort just to starve one baby tho. A new baby is probably born in town while your trying to kill the first.

#62 Re: Main Forum » Can we remove locks please? » 2018-08-19 23:52:57

I've seen it used legitimately but it's difficult to maintain that. They usually get used to hoard weapons or make a saferoom. Never lasts more then a generation or two before the key gets lost and the door/trunk gets locked for centuries.
I think you should be able to break down doors, make it a multi person job.

But your right, Locks are more grief then good.

It was smart of you to run, It's nice to see some girls with some self preservation.

As a Male I try to warn at least one little girl and urge them to leave town for a bit. Yet they stay by the farms and get stabbed by the murderer. As a young girl I just run off to some wild bushes and a nice desert edge of avaliable. A nice tree to hide in is good.

The suicider

Runs everytime, Usually seeks out cities.

The Royals

Normally obtain there crown from a previous royal, Given most things at birth. Tries to boss people around and normally dose no work, Kills people on a whim. They usually dir but if they live then they pass the crown to there kid and the cycle repeats.

The vigilante

Kills anyone who murders or steals, Depends on what they think is lawful and what isn't. Sometimes they kill each other.

#66 Re: Main Forum » Why do people feed other people's kids? » 2018-08-19 06:28:04

It's like I said, I see no reason to starve a kid if there is enough food to go round. Unless of course the baby isn't behaving but then that was the same problem of others feeding problematic babies who turn out to be griefers or sponges.

Just been wondering why people blindly feed every kid even when the mother says not to. I only abandon in overpopulated towns or on Eve runs, I usually just name them and dump on the nurse but I never starve a baby without a reason.

Always impossible to let a baby die in a town, Someone always saves for no reason. Why save some random kid even if the mother tells you not to, You got your own kids so why save random babies that don't belong to you?

#68 Re: Main Forum » What is the Worst Item in OHOL? » 2018-08-18 18:20:01

I'd like to nominate pork, Virtually useless item. There is also ancient stone walls which are ugly and can't be removed, I much prefer the nicer newer stone walls.

Then there is pine structures, Basically never gets used. Needs like FOUR rope and 4 straight shafts just for one piece, ridiculous. Only possible benefit I can see  is I don't think pine doors can get locked so less griefable but way more costly.

#69 Re: Main Forum » Any working railways yet? » 2018-08-18 11:25:46

I found something better, Roads. Turns out you can now make roads by add flat rocks to floor stakes.

They are relatively cheap to make and give you a nice speed boost. It's even easier with carts as you can do four at once. Just make a path that goes around town and people can get around way faster.  Plus you only gotta click once and you automatically run to end of the road.

So no more wooden paths.

Figured out tracks fairly easily, I think we should only be building railways if we got a huge iron surplus.

But anyway it's just a matter of having enough trees and iron, both finite resources....
I saw a few unfinished tracks and derailed carts, Anyone know how to rerail them?.

I'll keep trying to get a city with a functioning rail track.

This sounds cool,  Wonder if they are good for transporting items as well. Could a line  between sheep pen and bakery, Put mutton in cart and send to the baker. Baker then empties it and sends it back.

Also did we get actual roads to walk on, I mean he said raiks AND Raods right

Also, Neo - proof or didn't happen. Not witch hunts on forums please.
Also, also - this is just a game, why do you have to be so mad? People like that happen IRL so if you want to recreate real civilization building, you as players have to deal with it and manage it on your own.

Well I could prove that HAPPENED but not that it was him, All your games are recorded so I could always upload the recorded game files if i wanted.
As far as I know there is no way to actually prove it was him tho. Not with the info we have access to anyway.

Also, Unlike in real life the baddies comeback even if you kill them. I was just telling others of my experience. I'm not ashamed of being mad, People like him just want to ruin the game for there own enjoyment. It's more fucked for people not to be mad at this behavior.

I still think it was him. I won't post about it anymore. The forum witch hunt is over but the in game one isn't, I'll still hunt him down and murder him in game and I encourage others to join.

Interesting idea

Would be cool if you could see what people managed to make in there lives and how many crops watered etc.

I remember seeing a suggestion about a spectator mode of sorts. You could watch your descendants but not be able to interfere with anything, Just seeing there perspective.  Maybe you'd be restricted to your own children and grandchildren.

I have seen him a couple times, Keeps trying to spam drop and pickup objects for his whole life. I've killed him a couple times already.

The first time he was Sam II, Was spamming goose when i was a baby. First I took his goose then he used bones. Someone gave me an apron with a knife and the first thing I did was stab him. He yelled murder but town fed and thanked me.  He made to like 28 because armed people "Didn't care XD".

Second time he was my younger bro rock. Started as soon as he grew hair. I got a bow and shot him again, Tried to claim murder again. Town fed and thanked me again.

Latest time was harder, He rode on a horse and It took me awhile to get him. Well I did some shepherding and farming in between so I didn't mind. Had several people after him abd I eventually got him again. He was a dude named Ivan. This was probably the longest he lasted.

I'm fairly certain it's REDACTED or whatever his name was. Have fun getting hunted and killed, It's open season.

Mod edit: The name of the accused has been redacted since 0 proof has been provided that it was that player.

Remember guys were all here to have fun so no more witch hunts
