Title says it all. In my opinion, if griefing is such a huge problem, how come people haven't tried to organize some sort of "police" force or get someone to stay on guard? I rarely see anyone being like that in huge villages. I always just see some person with 5 knives and is just farming, not doing what their appearance seems to be. Let them distribute knives, not keep them all for yourself.

And yes, I know you can never know who to trust, but let's be honest here, if you really couldn't trust anyone, why keep the forge open at all?

im tired rn i'll elaborate upon this later

so simply just erase it.

#53 Re: Main Forum » Having Fun and Messing Around is NOT Griefing » 2018-08-20 02:31:17

Yeah, everything has to be working
work work work
fuck your fun
you play this game only to work
work or don't play
no fun allowed
what is this "fun" anyway?
if you spend one second not working you will be killed
no idc if ur just afk or resting, work until age 60 or be stabbed in the gut

Yeah, just as long as someone isn't sponging for longer than 1 minute at a time, it's not a warrant for a stabbing.
If they are sponging, fucking hell, scream at them until they stop but if they keep siphoning food, go ahead and stab them.
But if people are just messing around? What if they're just taking a break? What if they're just a baby? Don't stab or shoot unless they're actually harming the community in the long run.

Whoever is trying to impersonate me in the game please stop.
I'm looking at you, Sebastian Patsch - Betty Collins
Yes, I do admit that I grief, but I only do if the game is about to get updated and the servers need to be cleared of people or if there's no more females in a civ and all the males are older than 45.
Please don't try to impersonate me, I will make degrading fan art of the event and an angry Tumblr post.

Anyone who was victim of the Patsch village cull, don't believe whoever that was. I can prove that I was never Sebastian Patsch in a few hours using the Family Tree and my email. If there are any other way to prove, please tell me.

im just kinda pissed that this happened, must just be teenage hormones lol

#57 Re: Main Forum » Awful Players - The Curse System is NOT Working » 2018-08-17 15:22:45

This game pretty much attempts to imitate real life as best it can, so why not have bad people every once in a while?

Look, you can't eliminate criminals, and every time you try they come back. So to that I say, deal with it! Why else would you think the world has Justice Systems? Maybe in this game you can start creating some sort of way to combat the griefers when the cursing does not. Stop trying to flock to Jason to get all of your problems solved. Give the man a break, let him work on the game rather than fixing social problems that can be resolved by the players themselves if they would just organize a little bit.

btw Jason, if u really want to stop the griefers, go ahead, i just think that people rely on you too much

[ITS NOT A GLITCH IT'S LAG]

I don't know where else to report a glitch but this is what happened:

It's basically just the infinite bobbing glitch but with a horse. I clicked on a fence way too fast while sitting on a horse and then i starved to death sitting there while my character moved her arm.

Really annoying because I lost my eve spawn to my village

1. (Make sure you have stable food supply other than berries for this)
Empty out a bunch of berry bushes in front of a bunch of mothers with their babies

2. Pretending to kill someone with a butter knife

3. Standing in place with a knife without touching anyone

4. Standing in front of someone injured with a sterile pad but not doing anything for a while to up tention
(Make sure to actually heal them eventually or everyone will hate you)

5. Chasing People without a weapon

6. Picking up babies

7. Picking up babies and putting them down over and over

8. Repeatedly pick up and drop an item such as Basket of Bones, Bowl of Water Bucket, etc.

9. Pretending you're Jason and telling everyone there's an update

10. (ONLY EVER DO THIS WHEN JASON IS SHUTTING DOWN/RESETTING SERVERS FOR AN UPDATE)
Gathering up some friends and killing everyone to get them out of the server to get the update faster

#62 Re: Main Forum » Cute prank tips for beginners » 2018-08-15 04:10:55

I honestly have no more words for this person. They're straight up ignoring everything almost everyone has been saying and they keep cherry picking the people they like. Once he kept saying that they're being bullied by Americans when they are bullying Americans themself. I doubt they will ever read this, since this is for the other people on this topic. I just hope that they start acting like a normal person for once rather than upkeeping this facade or just being a troll.

also these griefing tactics are child's play
you don't know anything if you only use these ones

#63 Re: Main Forum » Bread and Milk Guide » 2018-08-13 20:34:49

im sure you know this already but the butter knife glitch and the calf glitch got fixed

#64 Re: Main Forum » BUTTER KNIFE, the ultimate murdur weapon, HUGE PROBLEM » 2018-08-12 01:52:11

it's actually a really easy griefing to avoid. just make sure the village doesn't ever domesticate bison. besides at the moment, they're a nuisance

At first glance this almost looks like a sequencing of events, which I like because it helps bring it back around to paleolithic era type art. I like it. I'm just a little confused about the hair being white, was that a stylistic choice?

An idea for a future piece could be something similar to this, and using a bit of a sequence, tying in time and what it does to the bone piles. fresh with the flies, regular, old, and almost gone. smile

yeah i'm planning on recreating the drawing sometime in the future with improved everything. the hair is white because it's a reference to eve spawn techniques used by people in empty servers to stay in civs they made. for it to work, you need to afk in the wild with a bell tower home marker up until old age then after respawning, you do so within 10 tiles of the home marker as an eve. if you die of old age again, then you respawn there. i'm not certain on if you need the home marker every single life but this is how it works.

EDIT: the art piece was rushed because i don't have much time left

Don't make fur clothing. Use fur for backpacks and make shoes, hats, and sweaters out of wool instead.

Have to call you out on that.
Wool clothing is super expensive. SUPER EXPENSIVE. (So many berries and carrots, main gripe.)
On the tech tree it shows that fur clothing is a few percent better for each piece than wool, which is why I'm saying this at all. (accompanied with the below points)
Rabbits are often incredibly plentiful and a good hunter with good (and a lot of) grounds can bring multiple cart fulls of rabbits back home in a life time.
I 100% agree to not make clothing during eve stages and only backpacks but once a civ has wool thread people should be getting their clothing, fur clothing.

I myself focus on using wool for bandages and thread, because it always feels bad when a civ has sheep but no medical supplies because people are making
wool clothing whenever they possibly can, and then someone leads a bear into town mauling half the population and you have to watch them all die.

one of the times that civs should be turning on wool production for clothing is when an end game+ civ has way too many resources and HAS to find a way to use it up or else people will start killing each other for fun because there's nothing to do.

i think they meant that you should make aprons

This is where manufacturing time vs lifetime becomes a problem. When a minute is a year, transition times will have to be eliminated to be able to simulate the work that gets done up to higher tech levels... and I can't wait!

a small 3 second animation of materials going through a machine and popping out the other end as packaged food, a shirt or some other manufactured good

people who don't have machines will have sweatshops and i believe that's normal because that was essentially what factories were when they first popped up tbh

Right now wolves serve no real purpose, but if we could tame them and bring them back to our towns they could protect us against bears and boars and other wolves. Perhaps there's some sort of low-level beacon that we could place that would set a certain boundary the guard dogs can't cross, like an invisible fence? The puppies could be taken from mother wolves and tied to the beacon and when they grow up the beacon's boundary is set for them?

Or something like that!

I just think it would be cool to have a hunting dog lol

Or maybe an expansion on hunting.

In real life, dogs were first domesticated when humans were still hunter-gatherers and the only reason why we first did were because they helped us hunt down animals to eat. And for companionship, of course.

Maybe we could use dogs as trained animals as some sort of "Helpful Hunter" against game. (as well as guards, herders, and walking storage depending on how you train it)
Just imagine for a second, that dog domestication and hunting stuff exists in OHOL.

You could be out hunting for deer with spears with some friends. Suddenly, you come across a wolf den, With a dead deer out front. This could be an easy day, no killing, since there are no signs of habitation. One of you try to harvest some meat when, wolf puppies in the cave started crying out! Your friend runs back into the bushes, waiting for the mother to return, but nothing happens. A few more of your friends walk into the den to come back out alive and unharmed. The puppies were abandoned, but leaving them to die would be immoral, so you take them back to the camp. You raised the puppies with whatever knowledge you have of raising children, and they become loyal domestic wolves. Over time, and over many generations of wolves, they became the first dogs, hunting dogs for now; a Saluki breed. You could've set out traps. You could've fashioned snares to catch beavers. But, you found wild puppies, and you made them your hunting friend for life.

also to make it more sadder, dogs have lifespans and function similarly to players, except they dont get hungry as often

#74 Re: Main Forum » Architecture:Age of Wood Ash Cement » 2018-07-18 03:49:37

i think this would pair nicely with industrialization, since sand doesnt exist
otherwise i'm fine because this makes for much more easily attainable materials to build walls and stuff

so basically i'm assuming this is how it'll be

Knife/Flint Chip + Any Tree = Tree Bark
Tree Bark + Kiln with Kindling = Kiln with Kindling and Tree Bark
Firebrand + Kiln with Kindling and Tree Bark = Firing Ash Kiln
Firing Ash Kiln + 30 Sec. = Ash Kiln
Clay Bowl + Ash Kiln = Bowl of Wood Ash
Bowl of Wood Ash + Bowl of Water = Bowl of Ash Mix + Clay Bowl
Bowl of Ash Mix + Flat Rock = Wet Ash Pellet + Bowl of Ash Mix 3/4 (and then this keeps going until it's empty)
Wet Ash Pellet in Wooden Tongs + Firing Forge = Hot Ash Pellet in Wooden Tongs
Hot Ash Pellet in Wooden Tongs + Bowl of Water = Bowl of Boiling Pre-Cement Mix
Bowl of Boiling Pre-Cement Mix + 10 Sec. = Bowl of Pre-Cement Mix
---
Clay + Smithing Hammer = Wet Clay Brick
Wet Clay Brick in Wooden Tongs + Firing Kiln = Terracotta Brick in Wooden Tongs
Stone + Terracotta Brick on Flat Rock = Terracotta Dust on Flat Rock
---
Bowl of Terracotta Dust + Bowl of Pre-Cement Mix = Bowl of Cement Mix
Bowl of Cement Mix + Flat Rock = Flat Rock with Cement Lump + Bowl of Cement Mix 1/2 (and one more use until normal clay bowl)
Bare Hand + Flat Rock with Cement Lump = Flat Rock with Wet Cement Brick
Bowl of Terracotta Dust + Flat Rock with Wet Cement Brick = Cement Brick
---
A number of cement bricks can be made to create a wall and corner
