Why are you changing the topic?

Just outta left field....

Ohh your a Troll...nm

It's a serious issue that has infected the entire forum, that's why.

If you don't care, why did you click on the link and made a post. The way people react to spoon on this forum is bewildering.

I guess spoon is just disappointed that weekly updates are not happening anymore. And this is one of the way he shows it. I think doing this will lead to zero results. But it does not seem like it is actively causing harm though.

So your saying if we had a update Spoonwood would magicly become normal?

No way!!

Spoon is not normal. I am not normal. The fact that i am an adult female that plays video games is abnormal in my culture. I honestly do not think there is any oholer that is normal. If spoon is not causing any harm do not see why people feel the need to keep "attacking" him.

Maybe you guys think it is funny or you guys are being clever. I do not know. Seems way easier to just ignore the posts than come up with these "jokes".

I wouldn't even bother. This forum has been overrun with snarky trolls for ages now.

Nice jumping to conclusions. The game was put on sale because he wasn't actively updating it and didn't see the point in keeping it at full price.

I was referring to the Halloween event...

Also, are we just going to ignore this: https://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewt … pid=107237

Valve really wants game developers to participate in the event. I would not be surprised whatsoever if money is involved in persuading developers to do so, even if it's the bare minimum of effort.

Once I find a waystone, I learn that Gingers are 2.9k right of tans!  Usually I'd chalk that sort of distance to players resettling, but in this case I blame this recent change.  I go to Gingers, and unsurprisingly, there's still no kerosene on the server (they had an unused tarry spot on their fault line).  They were a bit more than midway through their charcoal pump.  They had decent tools, but no iron in town, so it wasn't like they could get oil up quickly also.

Blacks were around 50 generations in around this time, and thus almost surely had an exhausted deep well without kerosene like tans.  They were like 1.7k right of Gingers, and though I got Gingers latex and more palm oil, there was no way that I could get them sulfur.  And to reiterate, I had seen an exhausted deep well already in this arc.

The whole headless horseman thing clashes with the rest of the game.  Even a priori it creates players that are deadweight since they can't even theoretically produce anything at all.  It's not about survival.  Nor about parenting.  Nor about civilization building.  It's a gag at best and calling such a gimmick strikes me as dead on.  And with some players migrating east, to get closer to the shrine I guess, it should be clear that it clashes with race restrictions.

I've heard before some people refer to Mr. Rohrer as a "troll dev".  And well, that seems dead on at this point at time at least.

No vision at all.

Did Steam pay a bunch of developers to participate in the Halloween event?

I don't know if Valve (the corporation that runs Steam) gave incentives to game developers to participate in the Halloween event.  It wouldn't surprise me, since I'd think Valve takes a cut of sales on games.

Yeah, that would explain why the game is on sale too. I guess Jason desperately needs that money or something?

In Next Life will probably come out soon and will provide another alternative, if it won't also be superior also.  It's run on an entirely different engine as I understand, as the engine that Jason made just wasn't adequate for that game's needs (which doesn't surprising).

Yes, that's correct: https://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewt … 83#p107383

I'm not sure which engine it uses (might be Unity), but at this point, anything is better than the "engine" that Jason created.

#72 Re: Main Forum » You Are Hope Sequel to be released on PC, iOS, and Android in 2021 » 2021-10-30 20:57:31

The Steam page for the game went live eleven days ago: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1702 … Next_Life/

According to the developers...

"If you want to participate in the playtest of the Alpha version, you can request access on that page."

"It is also possible to Wishlist the game now, which will help increase exposure for the game on Steam."

Simple solution. If no one was playing, then new players would get a refund from steam immediately, forcing Jason to actually do something with this game.

Brilliant idea! Why can't we all just boycott the game?
