You get a finite map and randomly select however many number of Eves. Then everyone else are randomly assigned to each Eve.

Lineage bans are disabled entirely. Instead you always spawn back to your family.

Which ever family survives the longest is the winner.

Occasionally Famalies would get a marker for another teams location. Being murdered means you can't comeback for awhile or even permanently. Raids would be risky but could also cripple the other team.

I love this idea so much, but hate the idea of raids being governed by coords being handed out at random.

Maybe have the map be small enough that it could feasibly happen without coords at all, it would encourage more paranoia and wall building, so that it's a bit more fair.

Though, this would also give any family with a majority of zoom mod users a huge advantage.

I think that'd be nice, I seem to see the same family names over and over again regardless of the hundreds long list of potential names. Makes towns feel more samey than they already are sometimes.

Remove the option to use weapons and they'll just get spiteful and start sabotaging farms and tools more than usual.

I'm all for marking them in some obvious (and passive) way, I don't mind if they get weapons. If you've griefed to the point that you've been sent to Donkey Town then you're obviously not just "living each life differently," you're going out of your way to be a nuisance to other players without the thought of "hey, this'll make the game more interesting." If a family chooses to let the marked live, it's on them if that person goes nuts.

I think Jason would enjoy seeing prisons in use for troublemakers, anyway. It'd be an interesting development, it'd give us that bit of strife he's looking for while removing the aspect of "well we can't prove they're causing problems"

Honestly, I'd be happy to spend my lives maintaining fences to keep cursed babies in.
Give me a bow to take care of escapees and I'm golden.

Do these exist as objects in-game? That'd be awesome if they did, though they'd definitely litter towns! Maybe havng them decay after so many years unless put into photo books or something?

I'm sorry so much of your community gripes about every little thing you add to your game, I knew this was going to update and work differently from other games when I first heard about it before release and I'm just enjoying the ride regardless of the minmaxxer's complaints

Don't like the idea of giving colored text to babies. It leads to nothing good. If a formerly cursed person isn't in donkey town anymore they did their time, and should be able to start over and be constructive... or not.

I was thinking of this as basically a kind of free pre-curse system, where babies could participate and if enough people are noticing annoying things then it might be time to take some action. I don't know it might be too fiddly.

Nah, not colored text. Just a colored name, and this solution would only really be needed if Donkey Town was done away with entirely. This would only apply to people currently cursed.

Nobody has to "do time" if colored names (not spoken text!) are added for super cursed players, they just have to live with a differently colored name while they play like normal with everyone else, at least until their personal curse timer runs out and their name changes back to normal. It could take them several lives for that to happen, assuming they stay good.

Like putting a dunce cap on troublesome students.

White name? The names you see in OHOL from bottom screen are black, not white.
Black should be default name, but if they begin to gain infame, it should be colored dark red.
The brighter the red goes, the easier it is to tell that the person is up to no good.
After about 10 so called infame has increased, it would become purple, and it would not change up until the 10+ infame has began to drop down during gameplay below 9.

But then again. Why would we need these warning things? We already have a curse system. Those players who are in donkey town are still people. I don't see this very humanly ideal especially for such casual game. It's nothing too serious, and besides this warning thing would only make people go more idler doing what they want.
Half the time, I don't even look at people's names unless I really need to know and I feel like most people wouldn't even notice. Mostly, it'd be helpful in situations when people stab greifers and you gotta figure out who to let die.

In that case, no need of warnings, as long as you're socially active in stress simulation as OHOL and aware of surroundings, you should be solid.

We don't need tools for people's convenience of being lazy. You should know your family well, I mean that's what real life is as well. You don't simply systematically warn others about your sister who just happened to steal your favourite toy teddy.

Ahhhh it's been a day or so since I played and I've already forgotten name colors, my bad on there

I just like the suggestion because of the issues I've been hearing about Donkey Town, folks are getting stuck in Eve hell for hours on end. The name color changing wouldn't change anything about the gameplay and would be the same as somehow meeting a cursed player and seeing the color of their speech bubble, they'd still have to play chill for however many hours is required. Just, the cursed would be allowed to play with other people.

And imagine
Somebody names their new kids and the name comes out bright red
They know this kid might cause problems

Do they
a) leave the kid be and give them a chance with the villagers, maybe they'll be a good citizen
b) dump them in the forest and let them starve, they'll have to get their hours in with some other mom's good graces

or c) put them in a fence "jail" built specifically for these players, to be killed in front of others or gawked at

I think the color thing would be good for curses, too. Have names start at the neutral white and then change color with the number of curses. White for 0 - 5, black for 5 - 10, red for 10 - 20 etc.

It'd make deciding which baby to keep and which to toss much easier.

#59 Re: Main Forum » Regional Diversity - Hot Tribes and Cold Tribes » 2019-04-25 04:09:49

Hell yeah, foxes or white rabbits for cold tribes
Ocelots or monkey furs for jungle tribes
Wolves and mouflon for mountain (obv) but add more wolf clothing than hat (cut with flint?)
Rabbits for prairie
Deer leather for grassland

Make wild animals afraid of fires to make villages in dangerous areas a little safer, maybe they'd avoid them at a radius

Make fishing more viable for the cold tribes to eat on (I can see berries working in the cold, maybe melting ice holes with fires to make ponds) and maybe get a sheep type or other farm animal for dung for each biome, with different needs for each. Clay aand baskets would be an issue, too. Maybe long grasses would fix that?

#60 Re: Main Forum » Can we just ban people from forum and discord who brag about griefing? » 2019-04-24 21:09:29

That's the thing, the greifers are bragging and posting their stories because they feed off of the attention. It's the whole "don't feed the trolls" mentality.

Griefers grief because they enjoy the attention, the rise they get out of ruining the fun of other people. Ban them, don't give them the attention and salt they want, and they'll likely get bored and move on. Problem solved.

#61 Re: Main Forum » I'm Angry » 2019-04-24 21:05:02

If somebody wouldn't bury me, I'd probably want them dead too.
It's a game, let people have their fun with roleplay and go minmax on your own.

#62 Re: Main Forum » Another off-the-wall idea » 2019-04-24 02:02:12

Honestly?
Those ideas all sound amazing to me, I'd be all kinds of down to give them a shot

But what if you could also pass babies over the borders?
