I'm really trying but I just can't figure out what you mean by that first sentence.

#57 Re: Main Forum » Very close on the new, new database engine. » 2018-08-04 05:19:47

So is the data written to the disk at all? How often? What's the worst loss from a crash?

#58 Re: Main Forum » Mac Problems » 2018-08-03 11:43:55

Not really. The build process itself takes minutes at most, and having a dedicated server doing that for you doesn't solve the problems in the process itself.

#59 Re: Main Forum » Final straw with forum spam? » 2018-08-03 11:41:43

I'd rather periodically go through a list of new posts and approve/delete them than periodically go through a list of spam reports.

Re:tutorials, why not just have a server dedicated to tutorials and redirect them all there?

If 64bit isn't showing up as an option when creating a new VM, then you need to change your BIOS settings.

Okay, you're running Oracle virtualbox on Windows 64 bit? If you have 64bit Windows, you need to use 64bit Linux with a 64bit Linux image.

#66 Re: Main Forum » [TUTORIAL] Cross-compilation of Windows client (+ VirtualBox setup) » 2018-07-31 02:12:11

What operating system are you running? And which image are you using? And what software are you using to host the VM?

#67 Re: Main Forum » VirtualBox image with Ubuntu and OHOL test server pre-installed » 2018-07-31 01:04:30

What are you running the VM on?

My initial guess would be that you are using the 32-bit image on a 64-bit PC.

Yeah, it's pretty much a waiting game now. He has been working pretty solidly lately on the database optimisations so might have a bit of an email backlog to work through. The moderators don't have any other means of contacting him, so email is as good as it gets.

Also, I added that image on my phone because I wasn't at a computer at the time and wow it's huge. Sorry if that came across as unsubtle tongue

#71 Re: Main Forum » Deliberately lagging server out » 2018-07-27 22:49:12

That's kind of like saying "criminals are good because without criminals we wouldn't have the police!"

Probably something to do with antispam measures.

So you are telling me that people are using the anti-grieifing system for griefing?

#74 Re: Main Forum » Setting up your personal Linux test editor/server/client » 2018-07-26 20:37:57

You could compile the client from the same source as the server, and that will have the same data. You will either need to compile it for linux and run it on the same machine as the server (i.e. the VM) or compile it for Windows, which is a lot more complicated. It might pay to join #ask-for-help on the discord server https://discord.gg/pPpeXz

#75 Re: Main Forum » Setting up your personal Linux test editor/server/client » 2018-07-26 00:01:49

Where is your windows client from? Is it the official client? The server might have data that isn't in the official client yet.
