If you're running a milkweed store and selling rope, you can't have someone else making it on their own for your business to work. Why have a bread store if bakery is making everything? You make a store out of the bakery. Then everyone goes hungry and accuses you of hoarding and griefing. Want to set up your own self sufficient bakery? I mean sure but you're just wasting resources because there's already a bakery.
You could set up a deal with the bakery that you get all the rare pip foods like turkey, turkey broth, milk, butter, etc and you could sell rare pip foods from your store.

Rubber would be a pretty easy job to take over, no one needs rubber as much as pies so no one will accuse you of anything.

But I think if trading would work then communication needs to be upped. It would be a good help if a player's character limit was doubled as they aged. It's still the same when your a baby, but when you get to be 15 the limit increases.

Would voice chat be possible or just stupid?

Now just hear me out: ocean biomes. I know jason isn't keen on oceans and rivers but the way I'm talking is a biome sized pond, maybe it can be salt water to prevent people from using it to op farm. All you have to do is replace all entities and sprites in a biome already and add water textures. it also prevents you from moving, seas and oceans gave ancient people advantages with dealing with other civilizations, look at the greeks in italy, and with conflict in the game right now it would be a good strategy to build against a ocean biome and wall off other areas. maybe boats.

I was playing today and there was a neighboring town 30 second walk from ours. They came over with war swords and started attacking, but nothing was happening. I tried killing them with knife but it didn't do anything, it turned out being pretty awkward. I have no idea if this is a rare bug but the families couldn't kill each other. The strange thing is that my previous life I died to a griefer stabbing me, it was same family. Is this a obvious thing that no one has mentioned?

Where's the line between raiding another village and griefing. If it was another family member, I'd consider it griefing. Its like the concept in Rust, if someone raided you and just blew out the doors, you wouldn't consider it griefing. If they blew out the doors, made a new TC and blocked the front door. preventing you from leaving, thats different.

If he wants to share something he finds interesting he can. The same way you don't have to be rude to him every time he makes a post! You don't know how hard making a game is at the same time trying to make every winer happy. He knows what people want and you don't have to keep pestering him about it. He makes the game how he wants to and has a vision of what he wants the game to become.

If you don't care, don't bother post about it.

Story time:
I was born into a small village and when I grew up old enough to take care of myself, I ran around to see how the place was doing. The berries were decaying so I figured I'd help with that. Although I got distracted talking with another family in our village. Well not talking but trying to decipher each other. My two uncles came in with backpacks with war swords. First it was one, then five more. It wasn't that many people because the village was smaller. They were saying how the village was actually theirs. I wanted nothing to do with it and I had no way of helping them. When everyone was bones I was accusing them, saying there was no right to kill and peace stuff. From the looks of it they had knives in one of their backpacks, both had war swords. I looked through one of the bodies and grabbed knife. I stabbed the one with knives, but the other pulled a sneaky and had an extra and stabbed me.
This is probably a similar story to a bunch of others but this was the first this happened to me. Everyone didn't have a chance to fight back. It was sad, seeing their entire lineage die off in a couple of seconds.

Is this common?

I think your right actually. I cant remember my medieval armor today.

If there is two distinct types they could be countered quite easily if they looked different enough. One for defense against bow and one for defense against knife or war sword. Griefers would probably favor the knife defense over the other and just hide the bow and arrows before killing.

I brought up the idea of different roles and classes in the subreddit a while ago. The basic idea is that someone could name themselves. So if there's no Baker then some guy could say "I am the baker". If you hover over them it would say "John Apple IV - Baker" I'd imagine it would work the same for people who have crowns and want to be King or queen.

The reason there is a bakery or forge is because we group everything together where each it could work on it's own (except some things). If Jason wants to encourage roleplaying, but lose an aspect of choice and freedom he could do this.

If someone was claiming to be part of the police, how would you distinguish them or do what they say. Surnames add a bit of authority to it

As far as combat, imagine a chest plate made out of wrought iron that can go over wool shirt or something. As the benefits it could protect you from one or two hits before breaking giving people an advantage.

After a while they get an accent too. Although I think the language update put a halt on potential trade, or at least made it harder.
