The days of communism are counted mark my words!
Yes, I will trade you 1 baby worker who knows intermediate smithing for half your supply of pies.
War is stupid because there’s no way of making and enforcing a stable governing body, and even knowing of it’s presence and effect. Without the “official” leaders of the town being present, people who declare war are just a minority acting independently from the rest of the town.
And no, “Kings” and “Queens” don’t count because any entire scenario is just:
“I am King/Queen, obey me”
“Yeah sure ok lmao”, *carries on as if nothing has changed*
People bitch about the game and it’s flaws because they want to see it get better, not worse and more tedious with updates from the rift’s implementation to rabbit baiting. I still haven’t made up my mind about tool limitations, because on one hand I like the idea of pushing towards professions and labour trade, but on the other it makes it MUCH more unlikely for experienced players to rekindle a town (no pun intended) because all of those slots have already been used for more mundane and important things, instead of the rarely-touched bow drill in late game.
The recent changes made are really good, in my opinion. I know the attention to recent issues was needed for the rift to work, but I’d just like to show appreciation for the time taken to address griefing.
Just please please read it jason i really want you to read it i was really wronged
Boy who cried wolf?
smh every time i see this.
Lmao this has to be a joke for all of these points:
...I think you rode to our camp and requested a duel...
Correction, a town, most likely full of new or peaceful people, you all killed. And if I remember correctly none of you had the balls to come out and face me after I took out a couple of you. Oh and I swatted a bunch of you outside another town too, alone as an Eve. You can dish it out but you can’t take it. Was a while back so I too am a bit hazy on what happened.
...I see that my game knowledge and skills has indeed upset you and for that I defiantly do not apologize...
Hm, yes. Game knowledge, like abusing the dropping of swords after a kill and keeping several in carts? I’d clap but I’m drained of energy just cringing through all of this.
...or forever be remembered as that one guy who complains about people not playing the game the way he sees fit.
Genuine question, what is the way that I see fit exactly? Are you just talking about me disliking your habit of sitting for hours upon hours, day after day, killing towns in the name of a “reset”? Which was a stupid idea anyway because if I remember correctly, it required basically everyone that hadn’t been pushed away by your groups pathetic, mindless griefing to spawn as an Eve? And on top of that you went straight back to raiding after the 8 day rift. Or do I simply have one single way that I want everyone to play? Either way, I’m sure your answer would be pretty laughable.
so sad, you're all kicking a dead cow. like the hypocrites and associoal assholes that most of the people in that group are.
i stopped playing ohol ever since the rift came back after its great vacation.
looks like i did not miss anything important.
The term is “kicking a dead horse”... unless that offends you somehow?
This post was created by a salty member of discord who isn't part of the group we don't actively greif and most of the time you can find our group in normal general chat when we are playing... this post is old and part of a smear campaign that was ran against us discord users who made their own base and only passed gate perms to people we could confirm are trust worthy... this obviously made people mad who felt excluded (even though all are welcome to join vc and play with us).
I will not play ignorant we have organized group raids and many other events and even did do a day of greifing, but that day was in response to the community making post like this and other comments call us greifers enough and we might just try it out
Yeah, no. That is completely fucked. Since you’ve owned up to being a part of the group that built their own private base in several rifts, you are also owning up to raiding towns of players (consisting of more and more new people as time went on) day after day, hour after hour. Do not play the victim card. I’ve been in one of those voice chats during the 8-day rift and it’s pretty shameful.
Lmao thanks for the leak.
(I don't play much but I do grief sometimes.)
Whoever this is has done the right thing. Now everyone knows ![]()
Rest in peace, small pps
I wouldn't mind Eve tokens. It wouldn't even have to be a 1:1 ratio of living to 60 to get one. Heck make it 5 or 10 lives to 60 for 1 Eve token. It would just be nice to play an Eve when I felt like it once in a while, rather than count on chance or the Eve window.
The_Anabaptist
I think it’d need to be like enough tokens to make getting an Eve token so difficult that there’s rarely more than 1 new family per few generations, if the average amount of people living to 60 stays the same (I don’t know what the current average is, and I’m sure this idea would encourage more people to live to 60).
Also a side note, Reading back over it I wouldn’t replace the Eve window with tokens, rather have the token system after the Eve window.
Solbusaur wrote:You have to declare war for a sword to work. Say WAR in the target family's language (Only one side has to), or PEACE in their language (Both sides must do it) to either enable or disable war swords between families. Once at peace, both families have to declare war in the other's language to enable war swords again.
Also only elders are able to do this, so old age is important now
How do you even know how to say war or peace in their language
If you write a note like normal and give it to a non-related person who hasn’t learnt your language, they will read the note in their’s. So you can therefore write a note saying “peace” and get the translation like that.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this was thought of before, but an idea that just popped into my head - what about Eve tokens, that can be accumulated for living by 60 (not as an Eve) in another family? Living to 60 is an example that the rift is still liveable and can support new families, while a limitation on Eve spawning also combats Eve-griefing potentially. Basically, you have to earn your right to start a new family within the rift. As for the miraculous conditions of being banned everywhere with the new curse system, maybe just send them to a “donkey town rift” (I can’t remember where but I’ve seen it suggested on the forums) since if you’re using curses to ban yourself from everywhere you must be abusing the curse system.
Solution 2: "Blocking". This would mean that if two people are engaged in growling at each other, weapon at the ready both attacks will fail. Resulting in both parties surviving removing their growl emote giving both another opportunity to attack this each other. This one might be less ideal though since it could result in endless stalements. Maybe a stun could be added to both players favoring the defense (the one that growled last). A possible advantage to the defense would be that their stun duration is less than the attacker. Which means that the defense would get a change to retaliate while the attack also has a chance to flee during both stuns.
Yes to blocking. The possibility of a stalemate should be present in this situation, as it’d also open up the chance for a no-death resolution... unless of course the two people engage in a 30-year duel. The idea of a stun is also good, maybe it could be equal for both parties to keep the possibility of a drawn-out duel?
Bodies of water, like lakes, oceans or rivers. The reason why villages can’t find each other early on just by using in-game communication is because they don’t have a common natural landmark to connect them. If villages for example were founded along these bodies of water, trade (for example) could occur as people can follow the river/coastline. During the rift this was possible as the natural landmark was the rift edges — if you followed the edges of the rift you were guaranteed to find some kind of player interaction. However, because the rift was so confined, the raiding problem got way too out of hand.
That knife in the apron has to be the unsafest knife ever, I wonder who would use a knife in a pocket irl.
It’s there to let people know I mean bizniss.
If you are taking down the corner of a property to install a fail safe, you just need to have an elder willing to put up the notice. The property owner must come out to prevent the takedown, so if he gets salty, you can take him down instead. Assuming the current owner is not hostile or up to no-good, you can just explain your reasoning and there shouldn't be a problem.
Oh so can notices not be hammered away from the inside, do I have that wrong...? Also it’s very unlikely that you’ll find a town with any spare paper anyway because it’s either never made, or if it is it’s all used for shitposting notes.
It might be more realistic to make an effort to add fail-safes to existing fences, whenever you notice that they are missing. Many people do not know the steps for msking adobe walls, let alone stucco walls. And it is usually more important to construct a secure fence line quickly than it is to worry about constructing time-consuming fail safes.
It takes an hour for fences to become shaky, and another hour to decay. You also can’t guarantee that no one will fix the corner again. As for adobe walls... all it takes is common sense in knowing how construction works, a very basic level of skill. Plaster walls however are understandable. Maybe outside a note is kept with instructions on how to remove it.
I’m trying to think how a property can remain a “property” without it being too easily broken into and to easily protected... since fences in general are hoarders tools and very bad raid protection.
So as an idea, because elder receipts can just be hammered away with a stone, maybe every property must have an plaster pillar as a corner? If the property is used to keep slaves or hoard tools for personal use when the town needs them, a chisel and pickaxe on the pillar can be used to get inside. Properties without the failsafe should be dismantled before hammering or in it’s shaky state.
More slots, more workpower. Oh, and it gotta be black.

Not being funny, but you did admit to griefing... You’re also known to leave or kill your kids...
I killed most gese on the map on my own and am in no way affiliated with the southern fortress of discordDome-organized players.
As someone who can see behind trees, you missed a LOT ![]()
Get fucked kiddo prepare better next time I was too quick on the draw
Of course i'm part of the griefer nest it says yellow hat HQ on the sign. Im literally clad in full yellow its not that hard to figure out.
Betrayed the green-hat order because you didn’t know how to make green by chance?
Also arrows require feather which only comes from wild geese, and you need 3 arrows to kill a bear, so killing all the wild goose + planting 1-2 arrow in each bear = no more arrows and unkillable bears
Someone else suggested ponds regenerating geese. Maybe also plucking geese gives feathers, making them renewable even if all goose ponds are shot?
