I like the language idea alot, Would make straight merging alot harder. But I do think Megatowns should still be a thing.
Integration overtime should be possible. A women shows up in a town and has babies, Eventually that branch learns the towns language and becomes curseable.
I don't like the sword idea because griefers with coord knowlage will take advantage of that shit.
Maybe writing can be used to teach words of other languages.
Or perhaps towns relatively close are culturaly similer but further then that are uncurseable other language speaking.
TL;DR I don't us to be red necks, We should still be able to have allies
No, Matbat, there was just a misunderstanding there.
Once the pump exhausts, it can't be upgraded to kero. You didn't ruin anything. Kero and Charcoal pumps both have the same "depth."
You can upgrade to Kero before it exhausts, which will give you more water per pumping, but won't change the odds of it exhausting.
Don't worry someone made oil and we built a fresh Kero pump to the west.
Just keep ponds for goose and as non renewable water sources.
It is annoying trying to find lots of ponds AND spring AND other ideal biomes in the same spots.
Sometimes I feel it is better not to stop for babies, Least not until they run towards you. I too get sick of scrambling to feed newborns only for them to be /die kids.
Just save for the moment you find out that your baby wants to stay.
So we could have trade since Eves can't always choose the same kinds of spots.
I think that returning to towns is a good motivation to have advanced transport like cars and planes.
I honestly don't think we could advance to modern or future Era without knowledgeable players returning to towns.
Mine a vein, Make Extra Charcoal, Focus on basics so we can focus on engines.
It is also sometimes about not doing things, Sometimes better not to try and help if you don't actually know what you're doing.
I Dunno about titles because it makes you a target.
Maybe as a way to reduce your total curse score.
Is their a way to get rid of dried out ponds?
It's a step in the right direction in terms of making diesel Era a thing. Still no need to make cars or planes.
It's weird we have engines but most other tech is still the same as it is in time machine.
I try not to but I still hate people who get triggered even when their is a ton of dung and mutton.
What you should be saying is Don't kill moulflon.
Zoom clients would need to disqualified for fairness.
So kerosene/diesel tech is essential now. Imagine if the pump exhausted on the first use...
Pumped water will need to be used carefully which will hopefully kill off towns with oversized farms.
I find competitions like these often detract from the experience, prone to having people tunneling and burning out.
Also, why in the world would longest line be a contest? You have no control over your lineage other than where you settle down. Even the perfect place can be ruined by any combination of birthing RNG, "/die"ers, or destruction by either noobs or griefers. After you find a suitable location, the rest is up to luck.
If there were a contest, I'd prefer it'd be something in which the contestant is actually an active participant; rather than something were you roll the dice, then just watch and hope for the best. Skill over luck.
Maybe if it was separate from the main server and worked a bit differently.
You get a finite map and randomly select however many number of Eves. Then everyone else are randomly assigned to each Eve.
Lineage bans are disabled entirely. Instead you always spawn back to your family.
Which ever family survives the longest is the winner.
Occasionally Famalies would get a marker for another teams location. Being murdered means you can't comeback for awhile or even permanently. Raids would be risky but could also cripple the other team.
Logs are abundant, Infinite if you travel.
I think wood flooring is also good for designating work areas.
What I want to know is why you didn't just collect the materials yourself?
Innocent people don't end up in donkey town.
Also if they moved alot faster and if they were rideable.
What if we had a crude train that could have a couple carriages attached to it.
I Dunno what to think of ponds in most biomes. I agree that people would probably setup mostly in green.
BUT swamp still has other essential resources nearby like clay and reed.
But it means we can have outposts in dif biomes like savannas and rock biomes. You just need to import clay and sheep's from the main town.
I definitely approve, Lots of uses.
Timer is a good idea, sounds like upgrading would be alot slower going.
Alot of players /die in big cities for various reasons, Most just don't care for them.
1. Too Messy
The longer players inhabit an area the more messy it gets. Simple solution Is Better storage as the civilization goes up the tech tree.
2. Not enough to do
Alot of tech items don't go anywhere or are generally not needed. You build a sheep pen to survive, You make diesel engine for fun. Their should always be an urgent need to climb the tech tree.
3. Too many griefers
Private land is a good anti grief. Restricted access means a griefer can't fuck up much.
Watering can for newcoman Era. Works like bucket but can water stuff.
Big towns are boring. I often gravitate towards small eve. camps.
And abandon them once they become cities.
Eve finds good spot and is lucky to have good kidd> People flock to the camp to escape larger towns> Town grows until it becomes a city > Players get board and suicide, Eventually killing off the town.
What's so interesting about smaller places though?
I get that Eve gets to choose a name but most Eve camps do not last. I doubt all these /die babies are making camps worth a damm.
So many reject proper civilization to build a berry patch and a kiln and have some kids that die out in a couple get tops. Totally worth screwing over cities
And it's not even just cities anymore, Even for Eves and early Gens. Being female just means you produce alot of bone piles for the town.
Bring back black text for people who recently got out of donkey town. I was in recently and I everybody I met said they would grief again. Least mothers can tell who griefers.
Let us see who's murdered us in the past, So if you kill a lot people can hunt you even in future lives.
Was that you I met in donkey town, "Smart" "family"
The mum was pretty chill and the bro was a bit of a dumbass.
Bro didn't take it that seriously which is fair enough, I did a little just to pass the time.
Depends on the kind of griefing.
You can do very minor forms of "griefing" like breaking people's yum chains or naming there babies. Or going round with a butter knife doing /devious. Basically trying to annoy people without outright destroying a town.
But griefing isn't the only thing that ruins immersion.
Sheep pens made from things that aren't fences for example.
