How to be a 'pro'

I'm not sure if this is a guide or a question. Probably a question. Anyways, a few tips that will keep you from getting yelled at:

- Don't touch the wells. Farmers are scary. Wells are their babies.

- Knife any of my sheep and I'll replace all of the carrots with wheat. Bushes won't save you if I get my hands on a shovel.

- Pick the last berry on a domestic berry bush and you MUST water it. If you don't then somebody will stab you.

- just plant a whole bunch of berry bushes. They take a while to get going, but they're efficient if you know what you're doing. I see a lot of people criticizing this technique, but honestly I'm not falling for cactus farms until I can plant cacti.

- Pluck a milkweed stalk while it's not fruiting and I'll pluck your eyes out.

- If you do not know 100% what you are doing at a forge, scram. I'm tired of people trying to prove that they're 'cool' and removing my material from my tongs and taking the charcoal out of forges. Just. Don't.

- [2HOL exclusive] DON'T. TOUCH. THE. SHRINE. I DO NOT CARE IF YOU ARE HUNGRY. I DO NOT CARE IF YOU WANT THE CROWN. THE TOWN NEEDS THE DROMEDARY AND I SWEAR TO SHEEPZUS IF I CATCH YOU RUINING A SHRINE I WILL UPROOT THE BERRIES AND REPLACE THE CARROTS WITH WHEAT.

Feel free to add your own tips in the comments!

Re: How to be a 'pro'

heat, while having water is nice, in long term your temperature saves more than 50% on food, you just need a good eye, lot of times i see farms next to soil, that kills half your colony every 10 years, near water is better, you need to repeat watering all your life, soil takes one run, ideal position saves time in long run
desert tiles with medium temperature, holding down your mouse when you run out, save you 2-3 carrots, babies dont require so much feeding
smith wont get hungry in middle of tool making, just look for any bugged biomes, where you got 2 horizontal tiles between two desert lines, this is 4 squares for smithing, but i also seen like 12 tiles i used to make a  farm, with 4 ponds nearby

even if two guys get the rabbit, you cannot be geared up by them, not all of you, and no point hunting rabbit all life, when you got what you wanted, return with all your stuff, maybe teach/tell a kid where and what, save on upperbody, dont make it, find seals, untouched ice bioms got 8-12 of them
backpacks are most important, people are more confident scouting, so keep furs for that, and for pouches
also reet skirt never decays, bit more costly, but if you can set up a milkweed farm, then worth it long term

dont put well walls all over the place, it only ends up getting dry, towns die out in 4-5 hours, in 10 hours can be used, but whats the point having so close to farms? put them bit further, 4-5 tiles away and control their flow or dont make it, ponds are superior

you can block all animals out with a wall of thrash pits, also make rooms, compartments and seed fence
1x2 or  1x3 inside takes a few ticks off of shovel, place two fence kits on entrance, carrot rows inside, nobody gonna try stealing a carrot if needs to remove a fence rail or two. with two, he puts down one, then takes next one, you can close him in, as he cant put down the other one, gonna understand the situation or starve, also good for unwanted babies, harsh but saves time

you never trust anyone, people can be assholes, gonna happen, make them harder to do so

fileld thrash pits are unremovable object, which are useful as road, if you wnat a tile to be open all the time, put a filled thash pit there, can be between wells, can be exit of the city, can be a line of road

Good suggestions! Though a few of the suggestions seem a bit odd to me. For example: If I had the attention span, I would place wells everywhere! There would be no walls. Only wells. How can you dry out 36 wells at once?

Re: How to be a 'pro'

well wall, when you place it one after another, it blocks movement

never underestimate the power of noobs, a well usually lasts less than 20 ticks, they take from the closest then the next one and so on
you cant make 36 hoarding back 360 stones, half of your made wells, are already dry
