We all like to live in town and having fun with others. Nomadic life can seems hard, tedious and dangerous but you should give it a shoot once, it is a great experience to have. This kind of gameplay lasts 30-45 minutes, if you are an eve you already have way less time to act. There is two lifestyles, the safe one and the zerg one.
CHILL ONE
First step
- Make sharpstone, your best friend.
- Make basket, 2 snares, hachet, bow drill, skewer.
- Hunt at least 5 rabbits.
- Cook rabbits and make backpack, only one skewer is enough to roast rabbits.
- Keep snares, bone needle, sharpstone to cut burdock and wild carrots, dont mind cutting everything you wont come back. Basket is for food.
- You are ready to go.
Minimal cost is already 18 (14 for one snare) milkweeds, 4 straight branches, one curved branche, 1 kindling. 2 sharpstone and one flintstone. Dont forget to use basket to keep ropes. One full basket can have 3 ropes (12 milkweeds). Dont make reed skirt at first, it can be waist of thread. Keep it for tools or clothes.
Second step
Try to find place with enough food, raise children and make them clothes. Take everything you can eat, when there is no more food, go sew somewhere else. and repeat.
If you can raise you child, take your time, dont rush randomly, it is better to have a kid with a basket and you too than holding a kid
When you are old enough, tell them the strategy and give stuff.
HOT ONE
It was an oldder gameplay style for nomads, it was more about spreading children than surviving correctly. You have to run a lot, eat a lot, sometimes let boys die when a girl spawns onto you inna hostile area. Reed skirt is viable because you wont have the time to make clothes.

finding a good place to be able to do all that is probably the most difficult part
i usually die because the places just suck, like not enough berry bushes or milkweed, grassland not attached to prairie but snow or badlands, cacti not fruiting but desert already infested with snakes with oc no knife to help out
i am often spending most time just searching for a right spot & i don't even care for a kid, with a kid it's rather hopeless to do it the nomad way
& kids die anyway in 90% of cases, even settled, cause OHOL is still mostly a death simulator than anything else
already to find swamp with reed near some milkweed is often just a challenge, but in your equation you need 8 milkweed for the snares, another 8 milkweed for hachet & bow drill, for a backpack another milkweed, so you need at least 13 milkweed plants in an area (1 snare), 17 milkweed would be a jackpot after you've ran through swamp with reed first & afterwards have prairie
i am already happy not to start in badlands or snow, which is the case in 60% of my Eves
i've set out yesterday to estimate my chances of survival as Eve in the given areas
out of 5 Eves, 3 had a 20-30% chance (mostly due to wolves & snakes), the other 2 50-60% chance where i starved because there was just not enough berry bushes
this is rather the usual with my Eves meantime, i am rather worn out with the constant death
