Bear Griefer

So last night I was part of a fledgling but successful village.  Berries, carrots, milkweed and other veggies up and running.  A great location near a dozen or so goose ponds.  Around 10-15 people.
Things looked great. 

Then a bear came along and started slaughtering everyone.  Meaning, standing around over the carrot patches -- but not leaving -- killing anyone that bumped into it.  It wouldn't wander away.  Soon we were down to 5 or 6 people.  I died before the last few so I have no idea if they turned it around.

Is this normal for a village on the cusp of turning into a city?  Did our success (food, resources, bones) attract the bear?  Is this a game mechanic?

I believe I was in that village (or one where the same thing happened), and yes someone that left with me. Since all girls died and we tried to make a run for the bell said to me he lured the beer into town, before I died I believe it was this one http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … &id=508265

I had that happen once briefly yesterday as well. I was born almost right next to a bear and snatched away last second, and appropriately nicknamed Lucky. But the bear was acting weird. My mom was trying to lure it away, but instead it just ran diagonally back and forth over the same few tiles, then suddenly rushed us.

Pretty sure mom died to it trying to lead it, and I died shortly after.

we had one too, bear ate like 8 people
and a guy shot another blonde guy and i looked like him so he tried to kill me too, but its tupid when other guy died and a stupid kid told it was me
then other kid had knife in apron and stabbed me, he looked like me as well
somebody tried to be a hero and the bear killed him after 1st hot, i tried save him as we had pads, then i shot the bear

we cracked open medics house and fixed berry farm afterwards, made a fewyard balls and straw hats before i died, and gave my stuff to compost guy who looked like me as well, seriously too many twins
