its been a while since ive lived a life that i genuinely was curious about so heres my question to my two sons mischa and chanze: were you two griefers? if not i apologize for abandoning you two
__
the first thing i remember about being born is a question posed by my mother. "do you want to help us build a temple?" she asked
"y" i replied
so she named me lorissa and asked me to bring home cut stone and flat rocks. as soon as i grew hair i took off to gather supplies to help my mother build her temple
my journey was a little confounded but i eventually stumbled upon another mid-sized village off south. it was littered with nameless bodies, and in the midst there was a woman and her two sons, packing to leave the place
i asked the woman, "have you seen the rocky biome?" and she said she did not
but i managed to find some flat stones off the west and an extra cart in the village. i was still small so i spent the rest of my time stacking up flat stones to take home to my mother, waiting to grow strong enough to pull the cart. that was when one of the woman's sons approached me
he said, "ma is planning to leave. i think she wants you to come with us"
they intended to flee to the village i was born in. i did not know why, their village was still nice, with a few wells surrounding it and a pile of iron waiting to be smelted into useful goods. i told him that i intended to go back home after i was big enough to pull the cart
that's when the woman emerged from the farm, greyed and holding a screaming baby girl. she was too old to travel she said. "go on without me" she told her sons.
so i decided to lead the way for the two boys and return to collect my rocks later
when i returned to the village only the corpses remained. i made my runs back and forth for flat stones, and when my first son was born in the south village i carried him back home as well
when mother no longer needed flat stones she asked me to bring her cut stones. finding no shovels in the big village, i returned to the south to where i remembered a few dug up rocks being
it was there that i had my twin boys
now, i would normally not keep twins, having long learned that there is more to lose than gain, especially if they are boys. but we were in the abandoned south village, and they had no knowledge of the way home. so i named them chaos and mischief and raised them there in the small farm. i told them that i was helping my mother build a temple and i had to leave, but that i'd return
"where's the temple?" they asked. and i vaguely replied "northish"
i never intended to bring my sons home, but hoped they would have a fine life in the small village together. when i returned to my mother she was on the verge of death, but her face lit up with joy when she saw me. "all that's left is the walls. just fill the rest with cut stone"
but i didn't know her vision, "where should i put the cut stone??" i asked her, but it was too late. she was already fading
"finish it for me..." she whispered with a final smile
so i put the final missing plank in place and proceeded to try finding a shovel and a chisel to complete her temple. but there was no shovel and no chisel to be found
not wanting to use up the small amount of iron in this village, i decided to head back to the south village with its plenty iron. i hoped that the boys would have died out, or did something to prove their innocence to me. but as i walked in i saw a row of weapons by the furnace
there i was met with a gruesome sight. one of my sons, holding a knife over a body, and a man i presumed to be one of the boys i had led back to the village standing in shock
"its so sad to come back.." he murmured as my second son struck him down as well
one of the boys cried out, "he's a griefer!" but i just ran.
i wove my way around the forest, hoping they would not follow. and when i reached the town i warned all not to go back to the south village
i lived out the most of my life at that big village, making a chisel and shovel from the little iron we had. perhaps someone would go back to the south village in the future, to fetch the iron from there. (wink wink)
not knowing the vision my mother had, i just collected as many cut stones as i could, placing them by the bones of the temple for her, if she ever returned
by the end of my life curiosity filled me. what had become of my boys? so i gave my apron to my oldest son, who had taken care of the field his whole life and ran back to the south village
there i was greeted by a small fire and a familiar face. he had aged, but nonetheless, he greeted me without malice. all the weapons were put away. i asked him of his brother's whereabouts and learned that only the younger, chanze survived. we chatted a little and he thanked me for coming to visit
as i stood in that field, dying, chanze asked, "where is the temple ma?"
so many thoughts rushed through me. it would be sad to leave him there in that village, alone. he had another 30ish years left in him and even stuck around when his brother died. but i'd known trios who would stick around even if one died to cause chaos
i merely replied, "a little north" but it was too suspicious! why wouldnt i just lead him back? hoping he would die on the way and not waste any more time in the dead village i told him, "we could make a wild dash for it. see if i drop dead halfway"
so we ran straight north, past my village and into the rockys where i died.

so, a few questions. what happened before to make the murders happen? were they actually griefing? were you two planning to grief? why did the woman leave the village? i saw a bunch of murders in the line a little before my era while i was trying to find out the names of the two boys my kids killed. is that related?

You can learn a little by looking at the server life logs: https://onehouronelife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=2529
Direct link: http://onehouronelife.com/publicLifeLogData/
This is my first time looking at that so I messed around a bit. In any case, I put the name Mischa into the find-on-page field (ctrl-f) and started checking the most recent name logs on each server. I found mischa on server 3 for Dec 21st. Here are the two log files:
Names: http://onehouronelife.com/publicLifeLog … _names.txt
Births/Deaths: http://onehouronelife.com/publicLifeLog … Friday.txt
Basically, once you find the name you want in a names log, open the corresponding Birth/Death log in another tab and use the ID code next to the name to 'f'ind the entries. Here's what I was able to find. Jason's post about the data (linked above) tells you how to read it:

So your son Chanze only killed one person, Polo, who had killed Dexter (the body on the ground I presume) just before - it is the very previous entry in the log. The were all members of your family somehow, but you can see from the "chain=" entries that Polo was two generations older.
Searching on the family trees page and following the murder link to chance reveals Polo as a "ninth cousin (twice removed)", whatever that means. I'm guessing it means his branch of the family was pretty removed from yours. http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … id=2473629
And here's Dexter, a first cousin to Chanze. Last words? "Polo is griefing." http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … id=2473617
It looks like maybe Polo was amassing weapons, possibly having lived in the south village in another life based on his comment about being back. Maybe the south village was an older settlement of your family, abandoned due to the griefers? Who knows, just speculating blindly.
I found your other son's last words interesting, too. He says he was this lady: http://lineage.onehouronelife.com/serve … id=2472155
Anyway, thanks for sharing. I hope someone involved pops in to comment.

Hey! I wasn't directly involved, but I was a Weatherford too! Much earlier on though, so this was way before there was any temple.
It seems like the Weatherford family was always extremely suspicious of each other for some reason. This woman (I think her name was Venus) accused me of shearing the last sheep, calling me a griefer for wanting another knife made. She took the wool balls and hoarded them away from me, while making wool clothes for herself.
It was absolute chaos! There was a batty old woman who killed a valuble smith for making another knife, even though there were only 2 knives in the entire village. I hastily asked to borrow the knife to kill sheep, but the wool hat lady stole it as soon as it was clean of blood, exclaiming again that I was going to kill people.
At least my mom was nice though, I asked her to kill some sheep for me.
There was an actual greifer in the town though, someone cut down the tree to the sheep pen and caused a lot to escape.
Eventually I died gathering iron for the village, I was pretty close to home though. I hope someone found my basket and pack full of iron.
So yeah. Not exactly related to your story, but it seems like the Weatherfords had a major griefer problem.

thanks for investigating! yeah i figured by the last words they might have been innocent... but they could have also been trying to frame polo for griefing. my theory was that polo and the other man went to the south village to retrieve more tools for the village up north and my boys mistook them for griefers hiding tools. either way i found it kinda sad that (if they were innocent) i left them in an isolated village all their lives
@ sinfulcliche
yeah i think there might have been quite a few murders between your time and mine in that line. i thought thats what the bodies in the village were from

The questions is: Why did Polo kill Dexter then? It could have been an accident if he came upon all the weapons and was rushing to get the boys before they got him and Dexter got in the way, but it's suspicious.
Of course it's also potentially suspicious that the boys were content to just sit out there, though a town like that is good for crafting practice. Weapon crafting practice. For defense. Lol. Who knows.

Well, a griefer would want as few knives a possible for others to defend with. A wild theory, but one of the ladies in you story could have even been the same person who made the weapons in the south village. And someone making a bunch of clothes for theirself only can be a potential sign of a griefer, but not enough to draw a conclusion.
Remember, one of the simplest and most useful tools in a criminal's arsenal is to accuse others of what they are doing themself. They do it almost instinctively because it's such a good camouflage and confusion tactic.
