'Cause we're still playing in it, buddy. Don't go around telling people you want to destroy something they're enjoying and then get all butthurt when they tell you nope and throw you out.
Oh, why am I bothering? I felt a little bad for trying to stab you, to be honest, but I'm feeling lots better about it now, so thanks.

I would help you ending the arc if there was a way to do this without grieffing. I actually would want to participate in wars, but they always last so little time. Let's build a boring garden instead There is not much else to do.

If you don't like gardening, you could go fishing. Or build a house. Or try out being a tailor and make fancy dresses. Or make a rubber processing station. Or build a sign. Or or construct a car, airplane, or radio. Or learn how to drill oil. Or catch wild horses, make a race track, and set-up a gambling ring. Or make dice and playing cards, then start your own casino. Or found a new religion to worship a bonsai tree. Or challenge yourself to make ten buckets of milk before you die. Or set out to explore the Rift and bring back loot. Or make paper, rubber ball, and charcoal pencil and seek out another family to try to learn their language and form peace. Or become a bear hunter and see how many bear rugs you can make. Or ... The list goes on and on ...
If you are bored after one day in the Rift, I think you maybe just lack imagination. There is plenty to do in OHOL beyond raw survival and making compost.

More like lack of purpose. I could do all these useless stuff you mentioned, but I bought this game for the beauty of survival it provides... Up to a certain point sadly As for the creative part, I think there are better games for that.

Or just switch to a low population server if you want to spend every life in an early camp.
Some people genuinely enjoy the building and creative options that only become available in the late game. You can get basic survival game any time you want by stripping naked and running into the forest. But if someone wants to work on a massive road network or learn how to make a loom from scratch oe whatever, they will need a stable advanced town and a long arc to support their ambitions.
Destroying towns to reset the arc is asshole behavior.

I could say not letting people reset the arc is also asshole behaviour Seems like this game at current state can't make everyone happy. Lack of content after reaching high tech is the problem. Builders can find fun, but there are other people too.

Sorry, but that logic doesn't hold up. Defending your town against destruction does not carry the same moral weight as setting out to destroy it. One of those things is much worse behavior than the other.
Regardless, I do feel your pain and appreciate your frustration. I hope that something can be done to make OHOL fun for most people, most of the time.
Personally, I'd like to see a return to the open world map. I honestly think the Rift and the arc cycle is bad for the game. It encourages griefing to force reset and prevents anything you build from surviving from arc to arc. Although there are a few nice things about the Rift - like easy navigation and the ability to revisit past villages - I'd rather find a different solution to the problems it is suppose to solve.
On the plus side, nothing lasts forever. So if we are patient, the situation might eventually improve.

Kid, are you insulting me? I have no pain at all, nor feel any frustration. I play the game as it is and I always find many stuff to do. I always help the town I live in. I just understand why people want to reset arcs. Grieffing is bad, but there is nothing bad in wars and trying to end an arc through a war.

You nailed it: at the moment, mainly the people who like building and doing creative stuff (is that like Minecraft?) are enjoying the game. The ones who prefer to struggle and trying to survive have little chance to play that way. Especially if you are peaceful and want to play against the harsh conditions of the wilderness rather than people with knives and swords.
I come to the assumption that both these gamer groups' needs were satisfied before the rift/arc introduction. At least there was the option to choose which game you wanted to play with each life.
So yes, lack of purpose leads to unhappy players. For me personally, griefing has proven not to be an option. So I guess I just have to wait and see if the game becomes fun for me again (just as before...) at some point.

OP is reforming his ways and regrets the griefing he did. No point in continuing attacking him in this thread anymore.

Break the cycle, don't make excuses for why it continues on.

What do you mean break the cycle? OP has stopped griefing and apologized for his actions, so surely the cycle has broken right?
