Has pein or whoever come up with a setup for sprinkler plots.

Re: Best crops and setup for sprinklers?

can the plough turn? if not I hardly see any setup other than a straight line

miskas calculated that you need at least 17 tiles to make it worth on the usage, other than the initial investment

if it can turn then you would need to do a square setup to decrease distances, cover more space and make harvesting easier.

haven't played so I don't know how it works exactly

i imagine some clover shape rails would look nice and decently effective on usage and collection

Playing OHOL optimally is like cosplaying a cactus: stand still and don't waste the water.

Re: Best crops and setup for sprinklers?

There is currently no way to turn the plough, though I can imagine an update might use directional markers (stakes and sapling) from the road paver to implement it.

The biggest benefit I've seen from the sprinkler is that there is *always* food available if you have it set up. Sure people don't harvest quickly enough, or manage it efficiently, but it allows one dedicated person to produce a *lot* of food, quickly.

All the talk of efficiency discounts the most important resource of all - player time.

Re: Best crops and setup for sprinklers?

For mentioning crops, the worst are carrots and cabbages i think.

Ppl like to sew them but they are not harvested at proper moment and become seeds.

Tomato and cucumbers are not proper too since they require one step more before harvesting, though they are not bad as carrots and cabbages are.

Wheat and milkweeds also take time after being harvested, which delay the next step.

Berry bush, corn, pepper, bean, onion, squash... i think those are perfect for rows with sprinkler.

Straight line and crop rotation.

Use one kind of crop each time you sprinkle and harvest.

This way you don't have problems with different growth times.

The only problem with this setup is that you have to harvest, which not many people seem to do.

Just one single row that goes on forever with a paved road next to it.    It is the Omni-Farm.   There are no others.

Why straight line, Seems like it would become unwieldy  if it's too long.
