Hey guys,
I've been in top 10 on my server multiple times (last week position #7) and I have a great idea for a future update on the game.
As food diversity is clearly an important factor in human survival, and OHOL, I think it would be fantastic if we could roll out a large-scale biodiversity update - increasing the range of crops found in the wild drastically.
If we did this, it would force players to have to make tough choices about which crops to crow and use their precious compost and water harvesting. This would reinforce the culture of trade between various settlements and open lots of doors for future updates.
What are your thoughts?

I think that is a cool idea. I would also like to see more biome-specific crops - plants that can only be planted in certain areas, like crops that will only thrive in the wet swamp biome or crops that prefer the dry savanah. This would encourage people to travel to different places to grow or gather certain types of food. If your village is located far from the badlands, you won't have easy access go certain crops. That kind of thing.

After playing with more wild foods in 2HOL, I definitely think that more wild foods in OHOL would be more enjoyable.

What if we would have plagues, so sometimes we would need to actually trade for missing crops? And old families should depend more on fancy craving foods.

If you are talking about plant diseases that wipe out an entire crop, I think those are usually called "blights" rather than plagues.
Swarms of locusts too?
