Jason has piled on limitation after limitation each update, which didn't make the game better.
The race biomes and resources, locking away content from the player on random basis. With the intention of splitting up resourced between villages.
Well restrictions removing the nomad playstile entirely. With the intention of limiting iron and creating trade and making villages follow regular cycles.
Tool slots, which made it a general headache to get anything done. With the intention of making villagers specialize.
All of these have failed in their goals, players communicate outside of the game to get race resources to all villages, purposefully go in as eves just to uncover iron veins, and abuse the first tool's free use with their fellow villagers.
These limitations did not achieve what they originally were meant for, they are just trouble for players.
Is the solution really to just pile band aids onto the problems?

Tool slots got made so that they require 100,000 players on a server last month, so it's kind of old hat to talk about those, but otherwise I agree and good points.
I've been in favor of rebuilding from scratch, but when traveling to new towns from old towns, I've deliberately taken a tomato and a pepper of late, tried not to eat them, and get them planed in the new town, because race locked food stuffs doesn't help players.
