Leaves? I also have those where I am from....
But I am guessing you are referring to the ping pong ball

Egg?
How do I tell what it is?
I think it's a stone.
Whatever it is, I grabbed it.

I'm not sure what a "ping pong ball" is, are those those black balls kids can bounce?
Maybe this is one of those, but painted?
Regardless of what it is, I found another one.
Maybe they are useful?
BTW, it didn't bounce when I dropped it near the basket, so I don't think it's a painted kids ball, but maybe the ground is too soft, you did notice there are a lot of leaves beneath them.

Ping pong balls are white in my experience. They get used for the game 'ping pong' which is also known as 'table tennis' if I recall correctly.
Forrest Gump played ping pong.

This is a ping pong ball, this is a fancy one because it has a logo but most of them are plain white with no logo

A game with more than One name, sounds interesting.
I don't know who this Forrest Gump is, but given I'm in a forest, maybe I'll meet them.
Oh, and I found another one of these objects, third time's the charm, isn't that what people say?
I wonder if I can manage to find a fourth?

I hope it wasn't someone's 'breadcrumb' trail lol! But ye they actually do look like ping pong balls, are they super light?

weird things always happen to balls in the forest, I was with a friend once, and we say a weird bump in the ground like a baby hill and be kicked it and a a lacrosse ball was under it, it was weird that a layer of dirt just formed around it usually, they just end up stuck in a gutter or in a rabbit den.

Those are too big for ping pong balls. They are more tennis ball sized, unless Morti has tiny hands.
Ping pong balls are also very light and bouncy because they mostly hollow. Just a thin plastic shell surrounding air.

My vote is that they are deer eggs, since you found them in a woodsy area. Keep them somewhere warm. See what hatches.

They certainly do look like similar objects.
I see six in that photo, I'll see if I can find more...
Something odd - I can't manage to put another object in this basket!
So, I found a fourth object near this really shallow pond. Then when I tried to put it in the basket, it just wouldn't go in there.
I can't figure it out. All the other objects went in there just fine, so what gives?
I tried everything to make it fit in there - putting it in, being the only thing - and it just, would, not, go.
All this work is making me thirsty.

I'm living vicariously through your curiosity right now. This feels like a side quest and we all know those are the best.

You gave me an idea!
Often times there are empty bottles in the woods, here in Michigan, which is strange. because to get a bottle of any carbonated beverage you usually have to pay an extra ten cents deposit, which you are then refunded when you take them back to the store. I think this habit (, law or tradition) was put in place to keep the state nice and clean, as dirty ground leads to dirty water, but, it's had the opposite effect on some people's mentality - they see throwing their empties as an act of kindness to poor people that might be willing to go around and pick them up.
That attitude has lead to loads of discarded bottles and cans littering the forests, highways and neighborhoods, where people just don't care to pick them up.
I'm going to look around for a bottle, maybe I can get some water out of this pond with one...
Woops.
Looks like there was just enough water to fill the bottle I found, but now the pond is empty.
And I have no idea what these lines are in the mud, but at least I have a bottle of water to drink!

I vote mushrooms! don't eat them unless you know they are safe.

I think you can't fill your basket because of the OHOL rule, you can only fit three small objects in a basket

Hmm you have three round rocks, but no milkweed. This is a problem. If you get lucky, you might find an abandoned village.

This empty pond would make a great Deer Nest!
I'll try putting one of the objects in it, see what happens...
Well, that was strange.
Just as I went to place the object in what I intended to be it's nest, something appeared in the lower right... it said
Stone
+ Dry Pond
= Well Site
Now what do I do?

Those are the whitest stones i have seen in a while.
I wasn't sure what they were, until that sign popped up!
Or I just noticed it... I wonder, if they'd always been down there?
I have to ask; does anyone else see signs in the bottom right corner of their view?
Oh no, OHOL is bleeding into this reality!
I'm still team egg tho
I too was hoping they were deer eggs.
=/
I have to wonder what this WELL SITE is that the sign is mentioning, and, what is it for?
A well, I assume, but how am I supposed to turn this into a well when it's just a dry pond and a stone?

I vote mushrooms! don't eat them unless you know they are safe.
Some mushrooms would be delicious right about now.
I haven't eaten for a long time, been trying to figure out what to do with these stones...
Cogitosan, I uploaded a video of me finding some interesting mushrooms on September 18th of this year.
I think they were some type of slime mushroom; my guess is Suillus americanus it's a fresh upload, so the HD version isn't quite yet ready, but it's less than a minute in length, so, should be HD shortly.
Here ya go: https://youtu.be/mWn0lnFwdvI
Here are the mushrooms:
Not sure what kind they are, but my last guess was Suillus Americanus.
If anyone is into mycology and knows, please, by all means, let me know - maybe I can make a meal of them next year.
Now, about these, supposed, stones...

Deers don’t lay eggs!! My moneys on ping pong balls 100%, or some other kind of ball. Not as exciting but seems more likely.

There certainly are some kinds of, rules, to this world... here I was beginning to think it was all a product of imagination, that could change, on a whim.
Maybe it's both.
Maybe the rules are temporary, until the whim, is ignited, and burns like the sun, inviting the rules to bend and grow, towards it.
To our collective whims!
