Cannot load game correctly, please send help!

Hi, I just downloaded the game correctly today. I load it up, tells me that it's loading sprites, animation, etc. I log in and it starts loading, it gets about 1/10 of the way done, saying it's "Downloading new update" or something. After around a minute of loading it tells me, word for word "Failed to apply update: Move game to folder that is not read-only." Thing is it's already on my desktop next to Steam. I really want to play the game but haven't due to this thing. If somebody could please send help, I need it!

move the game folder    in Program Files x86
delete the  OneLife.bak
change OneLife.exe to OneLife1.exe
