a multiplayer game of parenting and civilization building

TLDR; Put family human bones in family graves and make it a home marker.
The best think is the future possibility: it could lure threats to city.
"In future with more members in the family grave, this could lure some wild animals and barbarians to raid (barbarians could destroy structures, itens, crops). Making more difficulty to maintain, people armed to defend themselves and making people to unite against a commom enemy and building structures to protect themselves."
If you like the idea go up there, if you don't please say why. I think it's a better way to get the game harder than put some insane decay and low resources.

neat concept, would be a cool implementation

I don't think npc's are going to make it in other than the Satan bot etc. I do think that family home marker is cool though.
Some sort of graveyard would be more interesting that the "dump the trash" mechanic we have now.

i would like to know who died there, would be nice to have bones with a name on hover
you could dig a grave, stash the bones and mark it with a sign, this would give the person higher chance to be born there
i also mentioned a barbarian camp, maybe a defensive one could be implemented but not an offensive one
i would like to see expensive structures like a windmill, which would give energy to automate things for example, we need content and we need high end stuff

Playing OHOL optimally is like cosplaying a cactus: stand still and don't waste the water.

I'm thinking about ways for graves to track families.

Yes please. A fresh grave could also still have a name, since you should be able to recognize recently deceased people.

Name and cause of death would be a bonus.

don't understand what is so important about the cause of death
in the current state of the game additionally to the already daunting one hour of the regular rushing through life in, if successful that is, 40 minutes of actual gameplay, is the cause of death a useless feature
i don't even respawn in the same place when i die at 60, so i usually just die at 58 or 59 now, couldn't care less
towns all look the same to me, faces are the same, egoism is the same everywhere, it's extremely rare to find a friendly player now, all probably either gone to the private servers or just gone to play something more rewarding
i am already happy to find a mother or some other player who's willing to spend a fraction of a second to give food to let me survive to the moment i am able to care for myself
this game invokes in me lack of care, to a steadily growing degree
not the right way for a game that wants to be a success
cause of death : lack of care

I don't much care about cause of death, beyond it being obvious that it was a murder. I just really, desperately want to know if that pile of bones I just stumbled across is my beloved mother, the person I just sent off to do something important, or some random stranger's abandoned baby.
