You read the title. You deal with the contents. MOVING ON!
There's an issue in OHOL that any player can recognize after following for any length of time. There's too many nerfs and too little content. Every new update seems to be another vital resource going finite or carrot farmers being stabbed in the gut for the thirtieth time. Finite resources and such are supposed to force us to advance in technology, which is great!.. aside from the fact that there's nothing for us to advance to. Jason is trying to force a bear up a one-foot sapling by burning the needles early. We can't be forced to advance to something that doesn't exist. I would also be okay if he was shortening our likely hood of survival just a bit early so that we won't get all too bored before he adds some new technology for us to reach- but that is not the case. All we are getting is nerf after nerf. It has made the game tedious and dull. Would you like to be a tailor? Clothes last a generation and milkweed is even more precious than gold. Want to be a shepherd? Fleece is as useless as any rabbit fur clothing and is a waste of berries, which are the only source of edible domesticated plants worth growing. Want to be a carrot farmer? We need the soil for wheat, berries, and milkweed. People will rip out the seeding carrots anyways. Want to fish? Silly you, those will only be added after the thirty-fourth nerf to carrot farming and the removal of wells! Want to be a guard? You're a waste to society. Start farming berries and cacti or we'll all starve. Want to be a hunter? Nothing is worth hunting. Want to be a scavenger? Your town has already died behind you. That's all you can be. Every other town on the map shares the same fate and nomadic families are nearly impossible to maintain. Good thing that's what you wanted to be!
My words may be harsh, but this is a rant, and these problems are very real in this game. I want to see OHOL prosper, not nerf itself out of existence.
Feel free to call me an idiot and swear at me in the comments below! Have a nice day!

I will admit that some tasks have become ridiculously complicated, like composting for instance. I remember the good old days when all one needed to do was mix mashed carrots and berries to staw, and add water to make compost. Then worms were added, which was a little tedious, but ok. But the addition of dung, which requires a sheep enclosure and shovels can easily kill many starting camps. Case in point, I was born as a third generation female, and my camp was already exhausted of soil by the time I matured, but we lacked the sheep to compost. This meant that I had to spend basically my whole life running across like 3 biomes to get more soil. I would consider this a nerf for sure, and I don't much like it (not that my opinion matters much xD).
Thing is, I know that Jason is reading our comments and I am hopeful that we will get some new tech progression in the next updates.

He said he was going to focus on content stuff for the next couple of updates but the last two updates were pretty weak as far as content went. The family thing was cool though, it just didn't add any real content. I do expect he will probably put a bunch of stuff in this week or next though. He is making progress, it is just slow getting there.

You a dumb poopie head and you smell like composting compost <3!..
I was bummed to hear that the engine doesn't support item-tile or item-item interactions independent
of player action. Like really bummed, it totally ruins my dreams of legit pasturage and cripples my dreams
of biome based village specialization for the roots of trade. Games and villages can get to be pretty samey,
the comradery of it all is still very heartwarming at times. It is starting to seem like you are more likely
to be killed for trying/killing a murder than be killed by the first gen murder...
I agree than composting isn't really any more interesting because of its increased complexity. It does warm
my heart when I know that we are heard. <3

I find what YAHG said pretty funny, because 2HOL is introducing streams that interact with the tiles around them to navigate the land in their next update! Needless to say I'm hyped for that. Anyways...
I know that Jason works hard on this, and I respect his work. I just needed to get my frustration out of the way. I don't play OHOL almost at all anymore, and I'm almost always over at 2HOL or on their discord. When I found out about the chaos of finite resources at OHOL I was a bit upset, because it felt like the game was going farther downhill than I knew- and I really don't want this game to go downhill. I left because of decay, but I'm only just learning about reeds, decreased usage for tools, reduced spawns for iron ore, and many other things. I bunched it all together to find that it's actually, by research, nearly impossible to keep a town going for a very long time. Eventually resources just get too thin... I'm angry that the time he spends nerfing carrots and the quality of the game in general isn't immediately being spent towards more positive updates.
In the end, however, this was just my feelings. I hope that everything goes well for this game in the end.
And yes, I am the dumbest poopie head in all the land, and my stench of composting compost knows no bounds.

Yeah that isn't actually true, that items can't interact. I can only think of one example, but sheep eating carrot rows is one. Since Luna mentioned that 2HOL is trying to add stuff too, it seems the engine is entirely capable of these sort of things. It just isn't something really used at this point.

It's probably just very difficult. I believe that streams and such are coming to 2HOL this week or next week, but don't quote me on that. Sammoh is also adding 90 more keys to the game, so it's taking quite a while!

Seems like you are right, good example.
I have no idea if sheep are like a different kind of item than like rocks cause they can move. Maybe things like players/animals have more powers than baskets?
Also for like streams and shiet, I hope it is true! I think it would only be a good thing for modders to add cool stuff that can be used in main trunk.
I saw comments on Github for the lineage server or whatever it was called in the code so presumably 2HOL could have it's own server for that too if they wanted to?

I don't think that 2HOL would truely have any rich legacies, however. Most of the population don't really stick to towns, or are usually alone if they do. If we tried, we could probably reach over a thousand generations.

check discord for updates, he works a lot on the game
even something simple as graves with names added a lot of bugs to game, as well just the corrupted server1 files
he added letters, boxcrates and signs
with the current resources, they are a waste, but its still content
a lot of people whine a lot but they just cant get composting done in a single lifetime, i can, then possibilities are better.
he is brainstorming on the other topic, give him ideas instead of bitching in multiple topics he will never read.
