So I noticed a few people on the forums were having the same problem I used to have (too many Eve spawns) and thought I'd share with you all the little challenge I set myself to make those games more interesting.... introducing:
THE GENGHIS KHAN CHALLENGE
Goal: found a lasting dynasty of nomadic horse lords in the wilderness of server 1.
Rules: 1) You must start as Eve, 2) It must be on a populated server with towns (otherwise its no fun!) 3) No discord- you gotta convince your in game children to join the challenge!
How to Play:
Phase 1: Start off as Eve in a populated server- name yourself Khan (this is actually the only nomadic themed name I've found the game lets you keep). Instead of trying to start a farm you must instead get a needle and create a backpack as fast as possible. Test playthroughs in empty servers have shown that this stage takes absolutely forever to get through alone, so you must keep as many children as possible straight away and convince them to join the challenge and become nomads with you. Also KEEP YOUR SONS! You'll need them to carry shit in the next phase.
Phase 2: Take your backpack, needle, snare and whatever other tools you'll think you'll need for the nomadic life from your temporary camp site and start traveling. Use this time to kit your whole family out in some sweet clothes while you travel. (Optional extra: make a bow and arrow and kit your whole family out in some sweet wolf skin hats).
Phase 3: Now you probably won't live long enough to see this phase through, so this is where you really have to convince your children to fulfill the families destiny. During this phase your family must "acquire" the right amount of horse and carts to become the terrifying horse lords they were born to be. How they do this is up to them- they can follow their namesake and get with the pillaging or find a more peaceful option.
If the family actually manages to get beyond this point than the challenge becomes keeping the family dynasty alive for as long as possible. How to keep themselves from being separated from the women and babies, managing food supplies, preventing the horses from running away and meeting hostile towns are all challenges they will have to overcome. This style of game play would be much harder than building a town, but I figure it would be a nice change for regular players.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ironically since I came up with this idea for myself I haven't once spawned as an Eve on a populated server but thought others might enjoy a challenge (if you read this and do find it interesting enough to give it a try let me know how you went in the comments below).

Sounds awesome!!
We would need strategic fence kits somehow - for the horses. Can those be carried or hauled?
I've never ridden a horse before, I'm too scared I'll die of disconnection. (My internet is patchy). Can we put babies in horse carts yet?

Arg I know what you mean by patchy internet lol- its so frustrating when you're doing really well and you die from lost connection!
I'm not sure about the fence kits- I've never actually worked with them, but it would be nice if you could load them in a cart! I suspect the most annoying thing about this type of play through would be dealing with the horses running away (well its an annoying feature in general lol).
As for the babies, as far as I know you can't put them in a cart yet. One of the challenges of this type of play through would be how to manage the babies and people that don't have a horse yet. I can think of a couple of potential solutions, although neither is perfect: 1) Everyone runs in a straight line in the same direction. Horses ride on ahead and frequently come back to tell the others what's coming up (cities? wasteland? food?). This option would allow the maximum of ground to be covered by a tribe, but there would be a high chance of getting separated if people get thrown off course by wild animals, impassible terrain etc. Option 2) would be to set up a series of temporary home markers where the mothers could spend their time raising babies, collecting food supplies and making clothing/tools. That way the horses could roam in all directions looking for the tribes next destination (such as cities to loot or the next good campsite). Everyone is way less likely to get lost this way, but the tribe would cover less ground and the mums might get a little resentful being stuck at camp while everyone else gets to go and have fun on their horses.
Either way I figure the challenge of playing the game against the way it was designed would be a cool way to encourage everyone to talk to each other and cooperate more

Oh wow are they? Man horses really are a bit useless in this game lol. Tbf though, death by wolfs and snakes is a problem no matter what style of game you play. I recently had an entire family of experienced players get wiped out this way and we weren't even nomads haha.
