How to kill people effectively

I know I gonna be lynched for this topic as well wink

The only people proficient using knife/bow to kill other players are griefers.  Fight is not trivial and there is no option in game to practice this skill in peaceful/repeated manner.  The only way to practice it is to become griefer yourself, which most people feel aversion to and don't do it.  So when they have to fight griefer back they fail miserably - like putting knife down instead of hitting with it.

I've seen multiple time scene where griefer stabs somebody and then hides behind mapple tree.  Then after people run to "defend" they just come, look around, and see nothing. Then slow down wears off and griefer kills another player, preferably the one with knife and hides again.  People follow the victim until he dies, scramble to pick up all the stuff and the lucky one that got knife goes to "avenge".  Obviously he can do squat, because griefer is behind tree.  After another slow down wears off, they start dancing around.  And then defender instead of stabbing, puts down knife.  Griefer promptly picks it up and now he has two knifes.  Usually that's game over.  Rarely third person has a knife.  But then it's just rinse, repeat.

So, how to kill people effectively?  Is the hint on main screen of the game valid - i.e. you should use RMB to kill, not LMB?  Is it the same with bow and knife?  What if you misclick and put knife down?  Is there any way to kill somebody hiding behind tree?  Some time I got stabbed even when I've been constantly running - is it random or am I making some error?

My fellow griefers, please help...

Re: How to kill people effectively

Now the best way to kill somebody is to insult him so he stabs you and die of stavation because of the 60 secs killing cool down.

Killing is ineffective against good players because you can't get them while they move.

Only newbies get stab and.they go cry in the forum because they are unskill and ask for new nerfs.

Griefing is just way more faster and dangerous. People that kills have been stab themselves too and want to make people suffer more they suffer.

I know and I fully agree.  But even if I spot griefer, the only counter I have to stop him is to kill him.  So I need to be good at killing.  Help plz.

You can't kill them without killing yourself smile

I have made my best griefing saying they willl die by killing me with the new cool down, they were so hopeless.

I have never griefed before but since I heard new nerfs on wrong things I relaunched the game and played like a fucker one life on two just to remind people that killing is pretty useless compare to griefing. People that get stab oftenly are the ones that are too lazy to learn how to defend themselves.

How do I learn how to defend myself?  I mean running for half an hour is not an interesting option for me.

Well, that is how it works in real life :

1. Flee

2. Work faster than griefer because he is just playing backward

3. Try to get him with bow and the reach of it, hide behind a tree on a spot he will obviously stop, put food or something on your trap tile. Or follow him and stab him when triws to stop to eat. But new cool down will probably kill you.

4. Trap him in a house you even have on and the lock. But griefers hide hammers and forging tools so you might not be able to create on while he is alive.

Griefing is way harder to counter with weapons since update. Try to be inventive.

I may as well not play the game altogheter.

Doesn't work.  Some things griefers can do in a minute or two does take a generation or two to undo.  Some cannot be even undone at all.  Either I spot griefer fast and kill him or the whole town just perish.

I need to kill him while he is griefing. Can't wait 15 minutes until he maybe falls into a trap.

Same as above.

I have no ideas, that's why I'm asking.
