Has the lineage ban changed?

Recently I was born as a male in a tiny little town, I suicided because I had already been playing as a male around 4 times in a row. Right away I was reborn as a girl, in the same town and my old mother was now my sister.
Is this just a one off case or has the ban changed?

Re: Has the lineage ban changed?

I don't think it applies if there are less than 50 people in the server. Maybe that was the case today?

Re: Has the lineage ban changed?

The lineage ban was recently reworked. Jason committed the change 4 days ago, which means it went live on Thursday.

Quote from Jason's commit message:

Rework lineage ban. Now it kicks in after you've lived 30 minutes total in a given family line, and gets cleared when you've lived at least 60 minutes total in other family lines. Instantly kicks in if you get murdered, regardless of how long you lived in that line so far. Has very little impact on dying babies, because they clock so little time before dying. Thus, new players who die young a lot, and players who are abandonned as babies, are not blocked from getting reborn in the same village.

Re: Has the lineage ban changed?

The lineage ban should take into affect when a player COMMITS a murder as well.

To prevent them from suicide and coming back to finish off the civilization.

What if you are killing a murder? and then accidentally die?

Re: Has the lineage ban changed?

How does it matter if you come back to the same family or not till several hours later?

The only time it matters is if you are a griefer, or lived a long life and bonded with people, at which living over thirty minutes you have a lineage ban already.

Re: Has the lineage ban changed?

i was getting 3 eggs with a basket i made, had a sis, was still 4 year old
mom didnt fed me as i arrived back so i died
then i born 3 tiles away from my grave
and suicided

even with lag, i never die under 30, rare cases are when im in noobcamp in green biome

i was born like 8? times int o a decayed big town which lagged me out every time, i opened the closed door then suicide, then born as a girl made full gear but was too annoying and suicide and kept coming back there
