Got born in as Loki to the West family and by the time I showed up every bit compost was being used for berries, heck, they weren't even attending to the sheep! All the carrots were gone and no one was making wheat- I tried to help, but every time I put down compost it was gone in like minutes.

Just before I died of starvation me and a couple of kids were working to try and fix the situation, but I have my doubts it's salvagable.

yea, i was born to a village with too many berry bushes. I decided that the town was doomed and i dedicated my life to making tortillas and making a sign. Was a funny life, lots of laughs.

All those bushes were allready there when I spawned there. (twice lol)
But yeah should have let one half die, but I think the little amount of water is the bigger problem, which will kill those lineages...

And they were there when I respawned thrice today too lol. (Was weird, the person I killed because she was chasing me with bow was reborn into the same lineage, after that I was reborn but into the other lineage in that town.)

All the berrys were dark green and some yellow. We cut a big load of berrys down. So it would be good to plant other crops in the 3x3 areas. At the sheep pen I planted some carrots.

We should continue to reduce the berrys. Also get some more clay for bowls and stew pots.
The town could also need some cleaning.

Berry farms are also easy to grief with. So many times I've been force fed a berry every 1 food pip as well as all the babies and people around by some random, without anyone paying attention to it. Kills water supply then starvation hits, all the while people still smashing the berries down their mouths and not refilling despite soil and buckets of water being right there.

There are so many sources of food now. Still we rely heavily on berry's or when caarozs are there on carrots

In 1/4 live I made 6-7 stew pots. I did it the first time. The crops were already planted.
In most towns the crops for stew are there, just most times it's the lack of pottery that hinders people.

When I am not wrong - Stew got 8 uses and each use is 2x12. So one pot if used correctly gives 192 bars and 6 of them 1.152.
So you need 6 of each crop. 6 squash fields, 2 corn fields and 6 bean fields. That's 14 soil and 20 water plus 1/3 of a hoe.

1152 bars are 54 berry bushes!!! 54 water and 54 soil!!!

And if you tale the composting in you need almodt two composts for the berry field and bit more then one for stew.

So, but even better don't eat solo stew. Get some eggs running, get some popcorn around for kids, pies,..... And eat your food bonus up. Once I had like 8 extra bars. Holy shit it was awesome.

The Berries do not use more soil than the other plants, nor more water..

You problem is you didn't plant carrots and wheat... not that you had berries.

In my case we did plant carrots and wheat, but people kept using the soil to maintain the production of said wheat and carrots and thus the compost to keep making the soil and kept using it on the berries with no end in sight.

I remember that town. I was born as a West there- Warrior West to be exact.

Interestingly enough, my eve was still alive when I was born there, and there was a second family of Wests that were completely unrelated to us. Everyone in my own family died out but the other Wests must've lived on.

I remember this life well because when I was born to it, the entire berry field was just starting to die, there weren't any carrots growing, and they were desperately making regular rabbit pies because they had a lot of it on-hand.

I personally planted and grew a 4x3 [meant to be 3x3 but I accidentally tilled a fourth row oops] plot of carrots up to the north, along with a 3x3 plot of wheat, for compost. Used the last of the compost we had up there to do so.

I even used the last of the berries in the field to make a final batch of compost to get the berries going again. For more compost. Its an endless cycle oof.

Have y'all tried the town to the [ironically] West? Its a bit smaller, but easier to manage. Last I checked it, there was wheat growing and a more manageable berry farm, plus iron tools laying around and an empty sheep pen. Not sure if water was around though, I only popped in to snag a few plates for the endless supply of pies.

Trinity was yesterday so messy. I always fixed the problems there and after fixing I headed over to the small village in the south and build fences I cached four horses there, but all went lost

Huh, maybe it wasn't. Conveniently similar events though, if that's the case. Massive berry farm dying out, town itself starting to starve, nobody working on compost throughout.

Its probably a common occurrence though.

Trinity does not have a sister village to the west, so yeah.
But almost every town has the same problems. Well its a small playerbase so thats propably why
