i met some crazy noobs who suicide over a name, even a stupid kid who did this twice asking for a specific name :abby

Oh my god, do pein and I finally agree on something?

For real, if you leave me unnamed, after I have repeatedly asked and then later begged for a name, I might come back and take you out with a bow.

I always say "ty" for my name, even if it isn't something I particularly like, or my mom is being stupid. Hey, at least its a name.

But I don't get why people are so opposed to naming their kids. It's the first fun part of having the damn kids to begin with!

We've seen this argument before, and again, NO, you should not be able to name yourself. If that was possible, people would try to avoid getting named just so they can choose their own name that they like.
They could choose the same name every life and essentially strip away the notion of anonymity that Jason is promoting.

If you should be able to name yourself but with " " but the problem with naming yourself is people having always the same name as lum said.

But there are some things : Good people could keep the same name. But griefer takes their identity too but that would be rare and people it isn't them if they act bad.

And if you have your own name, you wont be a dick because it is you.

You’d have to have a certain amount of pips full to have a baby, then, in order to avoid starvation.

Having a mother who’s at “hungry” or less is already a bad idea.

The only loophole I could think of is AFK mommies

I forget that, it was proposed many times but I dont rememeber why jason didn't make it or why he didn't want to.

I still really like the idea of adoptive fathers. 

This game unintentionally promotes nihilism.  There does not appear to be a goal here.  As such, people have attached themselves to the idea of lineage like a baby gorilla to a mommy gorilla. 

Men having the ability to adopt and name unwanted children legitimizes male roles in society.
