Yet to encounter any cursed people. Town tried to curse me for kidnapping a baby but they didn't have enough people to curse me proper, I've already lived most of it off.

I might ask people to curse me just to see how people react to me next life.

As counter measure I've seen whole families going unnamed. It felt that asking for name will end up badly

You guys really shouldn't be paranoid about cursing. It's not that easy to get a group to mass curse one person without rhyme or reason. Though I really do like the curse sound and text, I laughed when explaining how cursing worked and my uncle cursed me in response.

And yes, you can curse anyone alive or dead on the server from any distance. Though I think dead people have like an hour time limit to curse them.

So is curse system working as intended? I'm not asking whether you were cursed or cursed anybody else. Just if there was some rampant griefing you couldn't counter. Curses should be rare, their main effect being detterence, not punishment.

I've played bunch of games today and I've seen so far only petty thieves (stealing axe, shovel and hoe from early camp) or somebody luring in a bear. PITA and hard to catch exactly who (we had our suspicions), but that's leaps and bounds better than somebody killing all fertile women in addition.

Saw a guy getting multiple curses earlier and someone asking for others to help. I was smithing so couldn't stop to get the full story but he was def obnoxious and trying to mess with people. I was trying to ignore the situation till he stood in the way of the stuff I was forging, then started giving me shit when I asked him to move. Came back later with a bow and started calling me a pussy.. Ok pal what ever (I'm still trying to make needed tools for the town) I finished what I was doing then took stuff just up north and made a knife, came back down and carried on working. STILL he's giving people shit so after a while I had enough and stabbed him in front of everyone...
Poppy just so you know kid, no one cursed me after for it, no one complained, I only got praise for ending your annoying little existence.

Still have yet to see anyone marked by the curse system yet though I just encountered two people in the medic town using the fact they were nameless to grief with no ill effects. The one time I did happen to catch and get rid of a griefer I could only get five or six people from the village to use their curse on them which obviously isn't enough to get that guy marked either.

As long as you can't curse unnamed children I'm done raising them. It's garbage to put in a system to mark these people but leave a huge loophole so they can still get away with it.

we did it!!!!

i spent 2 hours in discord trying to gather a group of 10 people to curse me. then i spent 59 minutes in game waiting on the 10 curses. worth it! thanks everyone for helping!

I applaud your dedication, it took a lot of effort to get him cursed. But after one hour of game play he'll be back to normal again I guess!

well i was cursed on server 12 by a bunch of people from discord. i won't be cursed on server 1 or 2 so i don't know how they would treat me.

I mean, for him to even get cursed he had to repeatedly ask people for it on the chat room. You can only curse someone two hours after birth.
