Windows - Unable to install

I have downloaded, extracted but when I click the application file it gives me a onelife.exe- System Error. The code execution cannot procees because SDL.dll was not found.
I have tried deleting and re-downloading etc. but no luck.
Windows - Downloaded into a non-protected file area.
Any help would be really appreciated

Any more info about your operating system and pc specs? What version of Windows, 32bit or 64bit cpu, etc.

Well, if that file is in the archive, then perhaps it didn't extract because of permission issues. If it's meant to be in the system file already, then maybe you can install it somehow.

I just had a quick look in my game directory and SDL.dll is in there. I'm guessing it's not in yours, which would indicate some kind of install problem. I can only suggest installing it in a new folder, and not just copy paste, but a full reinstall.

Had the same problem and found a solution after a couple hours. Take the OneLife_v58 file and copy it, then go to program files and paste it. Edit because I was mistaken about just moving SDL, checked and I moved the whole file and it worked.

Amazing. I saved it on my Desktop and then it worked!
Hoorah, thanks for the help.
Now it's crashing as the update downloads but thats a different issue so will read up elsewhere about that and close this thread.

That's weird, but I really don't understand Windows anymore. What if you right click on SDL.dll and open 'Properties'. Do you see an option to 'Unblock' the file? Or the same thing, on the OneLife_v??.exe file? Does that also fix the problem?

Got it working! Didn't need to unblock anything in the end. I'm out in rural Indonesia so it could have been a connection issue when it was downloading the update that caused it to crash. I just kept trying on various connections until it went through.
