I was born as Bill Peinado to a town, which was actually in famine, though I did not know that then. My mother ran with me into the wilderness, and said she would raise me there. I probably should have realised there was a famine then... anyway, I was raised there and then put back into the town to live my life. My mother told me she was going to set up a milkweed farm a few biomes away, and left as soon as I grew. I never saw her again.
My childhood consisted of rapidly watering the berry bushes, hoping and praying that at least one female would stay alive. During this time I witnessed the birth of a cursed child, whose mother was repulsed. However, a man named Charles insisted that she was given a chance for redemption, and so she was. I was not sure if this was a good idea or not, but Charles had a knife, so I assumed he had a backup plan.
Charles began to kill when I was young, but he only killed males. I suppose this redeemed him a little, but he was still a killer and was cursed pretty heavily, though many cursers had no tokens left. He was sarcastic and sour. We all hated him, I'm sure. His last murder was on my brother, and I felt induced to say something, so I shouted "killer!". Charles was not impressed. He said "No shit Sherlock! What did you think I was, a surgeon?"
Thoroughly abashed, I mumbled "lol maybe idk" in reply, mainly so as not to look stupid, but I heard Charles laugh at my comment. I got back to watering the bushes, not wishing to be killed myself.
A few years later I was joined by a young lady, younger than me, named Girl. She spoke, asking if we had a fire, and her voice was deep and resounding - the cursed child. I froze in fear, but told her that we didn't, and needed one. She thanked me and left. Despite the demonic edge to her voice, I felt butterflies in my stomach - oh no. No no no. Only I could fall in love with a cursed woman. But fall in love I did, and I was nervous when she joined me near the berry bushes.
Eventually, she spoke to me and to Charles too. Charles had been cursed but the knife was gone, so there was nothing more we could do about him. May as well be nice. He was sort of accepted as a member of society. Girl said to us that there were no more females. We agreed, and she said she supposed she'd have to repopulate. I sympathised with her, and then she said "Well, I at least deserve a proposal."
I was giddy. I stuttered something about giving me some time, and then rushed off to find something... anything... a rose! Yes, a rose. But there are no rose plants... can I grow one? No! Not enough time! Okay, how about... clothes! Clothes.... no family rabbit holes... no fur... no seals... ugh! I need to marry her soon! What can I get? Think think think... what's that? Indigo? That'll do! Grab it, quick... what do you mean, I need a sharp stone? It's a plant! Oh well, oh well... a sharp stone! Grab it... cut the indigo... ooh, a nice bundle. Go go go, take it to Girl! Aaaah!
Girl had already had her first baby, a little boy, when I arrived back, and I gave her a proposal speech... here it is, more or less.
"Girl. I looked for roses, but there weren't any, so I got indigo. Um, imagine I'm down on one knee. [Girl: Imagining...] While you're at it, imagine that I'm really handsome. [Girl: Ok... I'll have to imagine pretty hard for that one.] [Charles: Lol] So, Girl... will you marry me? {realises what Girl just said} Woah! That was a bit harsh! [Girl: Ok then.] [Charles: Ew, incest!]
At this point, I realised Girl was my little sister... oh well. Charles joked with Girl about incest, and I jokingly 'protected' her from him. We had some good times, at the top of the berry bush farm. Our little boy grew and said "Dad" to me, which made me glow with pride, and Girl told him to be careful and to live. We waited for Charles' kind words, and they were soon delivered. "Bask in the glory of my penis." "NO" exclaimed Girl and I said "Oi!". Little Lenny ran away to live a good life, and we happily sat and talked at the top of the berry bush farm. Girl soon had a little girl, and named her Orchid.
Orchid lived a good life and had many children, but I'm getting ahead of myself. We had another little girl, and Girl let me name her. I named her Lily, and Girl cared for her. Another little girl came along, and Girl wondered what to name her. I saw my opportunity and took it. I said "You should name her Beautiful, after yourself." Girl smiled and said "Oh you." And then named the baby Ogheneruona, which I gasped at and called it a mouthful of a name. Girl scolded me and told me it was cute, so I agreed. Nobody wants to get on the wrong side of their wives.
We had another girl, who Girl named Ogheneruno (another mouthful but I had learnt my lesson by now) and who we loved dearly. However Girl confessed to me that she really wanted another boy. Our Lenny had died when he was young, causing much heartbreak and grief amongst us. Poor Lenny. I asked her what she would name it, and she said she wanted to name her boy Kenneth. I told her it was a lovely name.
An old woman named Hayley ran over and asked if 'that douche who killed everyone' was dead, and I assumed she meant Charles. I hadn't seen him in a while, and told her that maybe he was. Then he appeared! He was old, and took off the sheep skin I had made him wear in front of the kids. "Gah!" I said. "Cover your eyes, children!" Charles was very casual about it all, and said "Here I go." We all said our goodbyes, and how much we appreciated him. He just rolled his eyes and replied "K bye" and died. We buried him and really did miss him.
Life was great, and we lived happily together. It seemed we would not get our baby boy, but we were happy. Of course something had to go wrong. Hayley reappeared, and instead of speaking, she just shot my Girl and then died. I screamed "Noo!" but I knew we had no medical supplies. I told her I loved her, and she replied that she loved me forever and always. She told me to look after the kids, and then gave birth to a little boy. Finally. I picked him up and showed him to her, smiling weakly through tears. "Look." I said. "A boy."
"Oh lovely." she said weakly, and softly sank onto the floor. I weeped over her death, but did not forget what I owed our children. I fed them until they grew. I named our little boy Kenneth and wished both of them good luck.
Soon I had grown old, and my daughters and son were very nice and kind, as I wished them to be. I had to be a surrogate mother for one of Lily's children for a while, but she came back. Then one of my daughters, I think maybe either Ogheneruno or Ogheneruona, gave birth to a little boy. She said "Ugh. I'm not taking care of a boy" and then ran. I light-heartedly said "males aren't that bad", and then took the little one into my care. To my horror, another young lady told me to kill all males. Our berry bush farm was abundant in berries at this point, so there was no point in abandoning babies. We needed to repopulate. I named the little one Tommy, and he grew to be a good boy.
Now I was hit with the realisation that my family were not so kind. They killed boys - one of my daughters named their daughter 'Feminazi' , which was changed to Femi. She did this because I had kept Tommy instead of abandoning him, and I remember her saying "Ah, a strong inpenet woman." She actually misspelled independent like that. And then I prepared to die, with a bowl of berries and a sad face. A great niece (grand-daughter really) called Rose saw me preparing for death, and came over and said "RIP." I was grateful at first, then she said "give me your clothes." I wore a sheep skin and a straw hat, and took offense at this not-even-trying-to-be-subtle statement. I stubbornly said "I'm not dead yet." and she walked away.
I said my last words, and then sat in silence. Rose returned and said "I'm waiting. Hurry up and die. Die now!". Annoyed, I said "That is very kind of you, but no." Rose said "Yes!", and then I ate a berry, repeated my last words, and ran. If anyone was to have my clothes, it was not to be her. It could be a lucky scrounger some time later. I wanted to die where my wife had died, next to the bow and the arrow that killed her, but the arrow and bow had been taken and I didn't want Rose to take my clothes. So I ended up dying in a golden meadow, next to a rabbit, biomes away from my family and left with the unsettling thought that maybe this wasn't such a happy ending to my story.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. I was hoping you'd post something to the forums about this. I was actively looking in the family tree for you but I didn't have much luck.
I'm sorry our children turned out to be dickheads.

Yay! Thanks for replying!
It wasn't too hard to find you in the family tree, seeing as we were brother and sister... haha
This was one of the best lives I've had in a while... I hope you liked the story! Our kids did turn out to be a bit annoying, but some of them were okay. I liked Orchid especially. It was a good time, though, and I was sorry that you died so early on. Our little town was bustling with life when I died, just like it was when I was born. It wasn't an entirely unhappy ending.
It's always nice when someone in your life replies to your post... maybe even nicer when it's one of the bigger personas on the forums
