Didn't Jason say he wanted people to migrate? Well in that case, I suggest tools to make migrations easier:
* Wagons that can hold people and items.
* Tents for temporary settlements (to get more food).
* Explorers who can go ahead of a group and can easily mark paths.
* Dysentery, because why not.

How about compass tech so we can get coordinates back? Maybe then we could actually migrate in a meaningful direction.

Yeah I dunno. Fun idea I guess but not at the top of my list of fun ideas or even fun disease ideas. Dysentery in the game specifically would (or should) involve a few other techs including latrines (well away from the camp/town), soap production for hand washing, soap production for disinfection/cleaning, medication (at least oral re hydration therapy [for that you need salt] if not antibiotics [for that you need mold]), and other stuff. It'd also be a hilariously fun way to grief. Probably not the first disease to introduce to the game. I'd rather see mosquito-borne malaria which can be treated with quinine tea and doesn't necessarily include infectious diarrhea/vomiting.

Complex cheese industry with various aging processes - different results in different biomes, multiple aging steps for high end cheeses requiring moving them to different biomes.

Hard and soft cheeses. What about washing and salting the rind regularly? Ewe and goat cheeses should be a thing and butter too. By the way, where are my baguette and my red wine!?
OK, just kidding (moving cheeses from biome to biome for different results is too specific but awesome as an idea, though). Not quite sure about what I would want. More complexity indeed, but socialization means too.

I'd like to see more early game tech and different sources for needed resources. I think early game diversity is an issue and could be dealt with by having more biomes in which one could find water, soil and/or food, albeit in different forms (maybe instead of a pond a biome would have lakes that have more water but cannot become wells). I also think that adding more kiln era technology would be neat. Stuff like terracota would be somewhat expensive to make but could be used in urns (that could be a more lasting basket alternative)
To me perfection in this game would be having a few more viable biomes to start a civ (some could even be more challenging) and a slightly longer climb between kiln and iron era (which i think could be done by the addition of more fire based tech and more building/animal domestication options early on).

We need maps too so that if you find a town (or something else) you can mark it down on a map so that everyone can know where they are. This would make trading much easier.
Noobs are fine, but noobs that don't listen and refuse to learn, get on my nerves. Your ignorance will lead you to Donkey Town one day.

Wooo! Multple markers! Very good idea
I've often heard a town bell ringing but already had my home marker set, and wondered how far away it was.
It would be fantastic to have multiple compasses in the HUD, for the bells you hear and any flags you set.
MAKE BELLS GREAT AGAIN!

I like that you included "more vanity items". I'm definitely all for the addition of more culture, art, clothing types, statues and totems, etc. It's what keeps me going!
