Game folder size

So i started scraping the barrel a little bit on my C: drive and was trying to figure out what I can delete or move to D: to make room.
I see my OHOL game folder in c:downloads, think to myself: This game must be like 10Mb, not worth moving.
Click properties and almost fell out of my chair. How is this game 7.69Gb? lol
Is this normal?

Re: Game folder size

Its normal, if you play alot.
You may or may not know that the game records every life you play into a txt file. (which can be played back if you paste it into your "playbackGame" folder (and its the same version) )
Each full life takes around 50-100 mb to record (I believe the higher end is when you're in a big civ with lots of stuff around) and that can add up quickly.
(Zoom mods may affect recording size, this is only an assumption.)

Zoomed out FOV mod does not affect recording size. It basically shows you everything your client gets and logs anyway. Client has no way of requesting more data than server wants and is providing already.

Re: Game folder size

OMG thanks so much for this info. I have 21GB! Now I have to go through them all to decide which one I'll keep. Why didn't I know of this earlier?! yikes

Re: Game folder size

if you leave the game open for a day gets even bigger, you can just disable if you dont use the recording and playback or just regularly delete the replay folder contents
