Too easy to destroy towns by locking everything

Already is a way but you have to know which key was used to lock it. https://onetech.info/1003-Lock-Removal-Key-10

There is indeed a way to remove a lock.
What I´d like to see is a way to melt a lock down to scrap iron.
That way nobody will be able to use that lock again and I can reuse the iron to make something else.
This reclaiming iron is in my opinion not overpowered since it costs two iron to craft anyway.
It is just a way to get rid of this... rather annoying item.

Yeah making upto ten keys, thus using like 10.75 metal is a bs way to remove a lock

Someone locked it for a reason either to keep folks from getting something or to troll. Having an easy way to remove locks defeats the purpose of having a lock.

yeah was nerfed to ground
imagine i build a room and you remove lock and take my shit out, that case is too easy
noobs locking others room is other thing but preventing it is kinda hard as we have no ownership of tiles or buildings
you all want everything for free, and cry to jason, then you get it
same like murder penalty, not balanced at all
to remove a lock, you only need a new door or a chest, place new lock on it, and use file and hammer until you got the right one
melting it down would be nice

Playing OHOL optimally is like cosplaying a cactus: stand still and don't waste the water.

Someone had the idea of a battering ram that takes two people to use, and destroys the door

And if it's a ? lock you can't even make that sort of key normally so GG all your time and effort.
If anything ? locks should be removable one way or another (besides normal method) since should the key be lost (and it will) you're going to have to make more locks and keys to be able to get another ? key on server reset.
fug it’s Tarr.

You do realize that you dont need to craft 10 keys. Just turn a key into a lock removal, remove a lock and then hit it with a hammer. That will turn it into a lock and key blank again.

I think the battering ram would be great idea, as long as people are able to dual carry a ram item. (perhaps one person moves while other player follows?) Also I think locking boxes should be removed. Having locked doors is fine, it doesn't kill you entirely, but boxes that are unremovable without a key (which would be hidden anywhere. Sparta family has like 7 keys and only a half of them are found.) I've almost always told carpenters to never make closeable boxes. No matter how good it looks, it could be locked and whatever is inside will probably never be used.
If you ever enter Pea (Helkama turns into random name) family, you need the lottery ticket picked up. My baby names given can be absolutely random.
