120 Age Cap Server - www.dying.world

Hey,

With some help from Norgg, Chard, and Rosden I got a modded server running with an age cap of 120. It's a good place to learn crafting since you live so long, and I'm hoping that people will build villages here for us to map. Violence against other humans is disabled.

You have time to finish projects, perfect your farm, or train an apprentice. Please follow the tenets that our prophet Colin set down - only pick fruiting milkweed, only hunt family animals, and don't drain ponds. Returning tools and clothes is important. Preserving useful trees is imperative. We are a community, so respect other's homes and clean up after yourself in shared spaces.

Please PM me on discord with questions. You can join this server by navigating to your "settings" folder and changing "UseCustomServer" to "1", and changing "CustomServerAddress" to "www.dying.world".

There is a password enabled. If you can cite me the laws, and pledge that you will not be a dick, PM me on discord.

There's a pretty good farmstead there, I stayed a while and practiced crafts.

I didn't survive until 70 though in either of my two lives since the food bar gets so small and you lose all warnings. Living to 120 would be quite the achievement, it seems more like "Live as long as you want." Another player there said that s/he just chooses to respawn once they get too old.

Sadly on my first death when I was caught unawares by hunger while harvesting carrots, I died on the farm fields and all my backpack and rich fur clothing were all lost.

The homestead there has a sheep infestation, but nobody has yet figured out how to forge sheers, so that could be the next great step in civilization.

We will be tweaking the hunger bar decrement today, should make living into retirement more enjoyable.

EDIT: Hunger bars remain maximum until age 108, at which you are left with 10.

I played for 360 yeras today on your server. I had a great time! Lots of fun and learned a lot.

I'm glad. It is an excellent place to get your bearings without being spoiled by an easy hunger bar, and allows for a productive life after 60 if you so choose.

I saw an incredible house south of the spawn, was that you guys?

Hi, i entered in this server before, and an awesome player named Niko helped me, but the skins were wrong, if its happening to you, its because you need to download the update, change settings parameters to

settings/customServerAddress.ini to contain: localhost
settings/useCustomServer.ini to contain: 0

Enter in the game, autodownload the update, and change the settings again.

Am I the only one who can't log in on this server? I get a red "login failed" every time. temp login does not work either. Login works like normal on other servers...

Is there a family tree I can use for this server? I would really love to play, but mostly if that is the case. I love seeing how my family grows and lives on (or doesn't) without me.

That's exactly the part of the game that servers like this kill. It makes generational development pointless, it flies in the face of the whole game's motive.
