town bulletin boards

I want to be able to nail notes to blank signs making a town bulletin board. The important, current notes can be attached with an arrowhead, arrow, or knife. It wouldn't take the place of signs because we still need those for town names and to designate the medic hut. But it would help with a few things. The important town news could be posted. Think :NO MORE RABBITS WEST. GO NORTH. or how about :TAKING CART WEST FOR IRON -MOM . You could also post classifieds for jobs or your romance role playing. :NEED WOOD STACKER AT FORGE or :SEEKING THIRD COUSIN FOR MARRIAGE ASK JEN . Lol, I need this.

Love it. I guess posts would decay after a while? It might be a little misleading if the posts are several generations ago.

Also since you can't dispose of paper in-game currently it might just pile up?

put paper on a sign, every paper takes a letter slot, mouse over each paper to read what it says

That's the beauty of the board. You could put the most important stuff on it when its relevant, an take down posts when they are no longer needed.

Yes, but what would happen to the posts that aren't needed? Currently paper does not decay.

I think the paper should decay eventually or we should be able to burn them or something. Towns would just need someone to maintain the boards and take down out of date stuff.

Could substitute stacks of paper for wheat in compost (compost needs a large portion of carbon) although I guess then people would just go around throwing everyone's notes into the compost.

I think it would give fireplace an efficient way of removing unnecessary papers, that are either outdated or not needed. Or maybe use a paper as fire starting object, like juniper tree has for tinder, considering that paper burns easily.
