So basically I was born as a single girl. Moments later I have a brother who instantly suicides but he shows up as my twin??? What is this fuckery!? Is it a game mechanic or a glitch?

Had that too, my "twin brother" was born just a moment later. Never had a twin so was confused why this random guy got to be my twin. Almost got me killed because they didn't want to feed twins.

It's rare, but it can "naturally" happen where two people are born to the same mother within a relatively short time span and therefore be twins without having queued up specifically for twins.

you need a lowroll on the fertility timeout too
also most cases you don't look the same

It happened to me today, I was born and the second born my twin sister ... I had never happened before ... too many coincidences

Apparently you don't remember but it's a mechanic which was implemented some time before the friends update.
