Bring Back Bowl + Berry Bush

Clicking on bushes and bowls hundreds of times to make compost is not fun. When the bush is in the middle of the patch it's even worse.

Please remove this monotonous uninteresting task and let us scoop all the berries from a bush with a bowl like we used to. It works for beans, please bring it back for berries!

Agree, doesn't have to need to be full bushes. Simply clicking the bowl on the bush puts as many berries in the bowl as possible, either emptying the bush to zero or filling the bowl to max.

Agreed. I'm all for the game being difficult, but this is just annoying.

As annoying as this can be before he made this update you had to have full bushes (which wasted a berry) or bushes with exactly one berry taken off to fill the bowl. I'd rather have to fill my bowls one by one than go through the mess that was having unusable bushes.

Did someone eat two berries off your bush? Unusable. With as bad as some people are with eating berries your composting will completely grind to a stop unless you go around trying to collect the wild berries.

As lionon said, you should be able to use a bush in any state and it would only take the number of berries it needs or just partially fill the bowl. The combinations of this are extensive which is probably why Jason had it only working on full bushes.

Lets count the combinations:

Bush / Bowl
6 / 0 = 1 / 5
5 / 0 = 0 / 5
4 / 0 = 0 / 4
3 / 0 = 0 / 3
2 / 0 = 0 / 2
1 / 0 = 0 / 1
6 / 1 = 2 / 5
6 / 2 = 3 / 5
6 / 3 = 4 / ...

Ok, yah that's annoying and definitely why Jason didn't create them all. But he should!

I don't think its that complex.
X = Berries in bush
Y = Berries in bowl

While (X>0 And Y < 6)
{
X--;
Y++;
}

This is an algoritm an high school student could come up with, i doubt jason has issues figuring it out lol

Crafting is not coded in this game so that would be a one off hack of the core game engine. He would need to create objects and transitions of a+b=c+d for each possibility.

But I agree, still not THAT many possibilities that it's unreasonable to do.

I don't have reddit so if someone does please feel free to submit it. I think Jason reads most things here, reddit is great for the voting aspect which has influenced his decision in the past when lots of people clearly agree.

should be a different berry bush, which cnanot be picked by hand, and not edible , only to be used for sheep, with a different color so people wont confuse it

Or..... have more than one combo-possibility to create compost other than berries+carrot+wheat.

Or.... at least have a full berry bush making a full pot from any empty one, however you still fill them one by one for already picked bushes if someone picked already some.

Would technically require 36 recopies as well (berry 1-6 on bush times berries 0-5 in bowl)... so in that regard not be any better than having it fill with all available right away and there is little use for a bowl with 1 to 5 berries anyway, so nobody would likely ever want to to pluck less than all available from a domestic berry bush.
