What thing have you never done?

I've been playing since March. Only 180 hours, which is barely anything compared to some of you (1300 hours!? Holy smokes, Morti!), but still, I consider myself very experienced. I'm not super efficient like some of the streamers I've seen, but I know how to do most things and I spend lots of time teaching other players.

However, there are a number of things I've never successfully done, or never tried in the first place:
- I've never actually killed a bear. I've shot one on a few occasions, but never have I landed three arrows in a single bear. Damned things always get me, even though I know to just stand on an object.
- I've never so much as made dye, much less dyed any clothing. Never really done any other "boiling stuff" activities, either: making paper, for example.
- I've never built a complete sheep pen of any kind. I've started a few and fixed dozens, but I've never built one from scratch.
- I've never crafted anything out of gold.
- If it was a new tech that came after the Casino Town days, I probably haven't done it. Paint, playing cards, rubber, pumps. I'd imagine this isn't that unusual.

Those of you with significant experience, what are some things you've still never done? Or do you tend to rush a new tech as soon as it's released?

I bought OHOL about three months ago and I haven't really used a bow at all, tamed any horses or sheep, built a pen, or built any walls or road. Wish I knew how to build walls and roads- something to learn for the future I'm sure.

Funny is that putting a sheep into a pen is something I always end up doing, if it isn't already done.

Never build a wall... love building roads, if the town is doing well, just put some stakes on the floor, hit them with a round stone until they are square and put on a flat rock. Making roads only works sensibly efficiently if you have a cart tough to gather the flat rocks.

Never done, Sauerkraut or Stew or any food else other than the wheat based ones.

apparently ive had this account since april but i dont think ive done a lot tbh

i usually dont do much building tbh... ive helped ppl complete pens in the past and ive attempted (broken) pens before. started some roads too but never 100%ed any projects tbh

i havent dyed anything either, or any of the new shit cos no time (goddamn finals are literally murdering me i have 3 10+ page essays due by monday n im on here rn)

i guess its cos i usually play eve runs so i never get to that stage... and even when im born in a town its either dying from a food shortage or theres a murderer on the loose

id like to go on a serial killer run one day tho... see how long i last. probably gonna wait till im in a big city or something n only target males (not 100% asshole lol)

Oh yeah, sauerkraut! I've done stew many, many times, but making sauerkraut might as well be flying to Mars. I prefer to learn by watching others, so I try not to use crafting guides unless it's something I'm determined to make that round or have screwed up numerous times before. Sauerkraut and its various apparatus just magically appear in a town, I think.

I made sauerkraut but I "inherited" tools and crops so I don't count that as doing it myself. Three irons for sauerkrautboard always give me pause since the iron nerf.

I haven't caught a fish or dyed anything and I have played just two lives since the latest update so I haven't done the Newcomen engine but I plan to do it really soon.

Haven’t made Kraut, rubber, walls or die. I’ve caught a horse, but don’t know how to make the fence to tie it down.I also prefer to learn through playing, but I gave in and ended up checking the wiki and techtree for a bunch of skills.

I've done everything besides making Tacos and dog breeding. I've never had a crazy Eve run that lasted 30+ gens, Never been able to get them to last more than 10 generations.

never breeded dogs and never breeded pork, i got one once but never really cared about them
also never made masa dough, once i messed about with the quiclime for it but didn't really cared

i was late to make stew, as some idiots made crocks from the clay i got and used all my kindling on food and i grinded 40 min for an axe, i still hate early stew makers
and i did only like twice full life of stew making, and never really focused food making for whole life

lately we had some lives focusing on one plan and its kinda different, grindy speedruns and quite enjoyable, teaches some nifty tricks and tool ratios
i like twinning with some pro guys and havent seen any streamer as fast as some
i got to get used to new stackign system as i used a lot of left clicks smithing and even needle making is weird now

Played the game from the end of July (how to see my hours?).
I haven't...
- tamed a horse, made a saddle or the reins (lasso)
- done anything with gold
- built a house (just parts of it, door/floor/wall)
- bred dogs
- made tacos
- planted trees, not even mango
- made antivenom
- made letters or signs
- made locks/keys (except accidentally and I can't remember how I did it)
- hatched a goose from an egg
- done some of the newer stuff like paint, turkey hunting, rubber, dice/cards, pumps

I have tamed a bison once, but not alone.
I have made an iron mine once, but not alone.
I have made bean tortillas once and forgot how to cook beans (just learnt it again yesterday from an old man).
I have probably made some skim milk but haven't gotten the cow process down yet due to buckets being so rare, I know what to do though.
Yesterday I made rose madder dye for the first time, and made red cross aprons for the first time too. Still need to make red wool clothing, only made blue ones before (dyed white roses blue too!).
When I'm born into a well-off town I usually choose a new thing to do and keep at it until I can cross it from my list of stuff to do.

Wasn't it the Plank family life, you were Farid Plank? Lately my memory has been mixing up my lives so I'm not sure what happened in which life anymore.
When I was born, Farid was telling a knife-filled backpack hugging Columbus to give out the knives so people can defend themselves. Columbus didn't want to keep the knives, he seemed so traumatised about the murderings he had experienced in previous lives. I think he wanted to hide them?
I made the med station and some rose madder dye, telling Farid and Columbus to dip their aprons in as I had nothing else ready for dyework.
Later Farid mentioned how he wanted to make bean burritos and told a boy to put the beans littering the ground in bowls as I walked by and dropped a few beans in to help.
Sadly some time after you passed, poor innocent Columbus ended up shot with an arrow by some girl running around with a loaded bow. He was just writing notes in his old age, just walking around with a note and his charcoal. I killed the murdering girl and Columbus died to old age before bleeding out, just as I called out to him (I was stuck in the after-murder mode so I couldn't have healed him in time anyways, happy he got to 60 though). I think I was the only person in the town who knew how to heal. I also killed a twin girl who tried to stab me, but ended up stabbed by her twin and dying with a cleaned wound in my med station. Glad the other twin (who stabbed me) died to starvation so they were both gone. I was gen 3, so me killing two killer girls and starving a third one seemed to bump the line to survive to gen 36.
But yes was great to relearn the bean cooking without having to rely on onetech. Thanks! Will make some again in the future.

And yes, same, I also haven't made the signs or keys/locks. Gonna go add that to my list. I keep forgetting things that exist in the game.

Hmm, let's see... haven't made a rubber-tired cart (I have made carts from scratch, though). Nothing with the new engine. Still wanting to make a tree-fort, but with the new water nerf that might well be a pipe-dream (although opportunity knocks to make that engine...) Nothing with pigments/dying/painting, no cards or dice have I made. No paper or writings, either, which is odd considering how much of a bibliophile I am.

I have tamed a horse, but not made a saddle. Never raised a goose (or roasted one for that matter). I've hunted and domesticated mouflon and once got a bison after finishing the pen, since my mother had been determined to get a cow, but never shot a boar except to clear it from near the camp - no interest in making carnitas. Never bred dogs. Never made tortillas of either variety, thus no tacos or burritos. Never built a wall or a floor/road, although I know how - same with doors. Umm... not sure, there's tons of stuff I haven't done and stuff I have but don't remember.

Lot of folks are saying tortillas/tacos/burritos. I recently saw a town where someone had filled like 6 bowls with carnitas, and I was DETERMINED to make some masa for pork tacos, even if just to get those bowls back. Took forever, but I got the masa made. I looked pretty foolish trying to make the damned tortillas, though, not knowing you had to smash them with a straight shaft. Someone else actually cooked them for me. I won't be trying that again any time soon.

(And +1 to keys & locks, signs, and antivenom.)

I have this idea for a super late town where you surround the town with painted plaster walls and just one locked door for city defense and have a town guard or two with the key, then go on raiding trips to other towns. Still haven't done that.

*made a sign or antivenom.
*caught a horse or made a lasso.
*played as a twin/triplet/quad.
*killed a boar or raised pigs (and subsequently, never raised dogs) and the same with bison
*painted or plastered walls
*planted a tree
*dyed anything or made cards, dice, or the rubber balls
*messed with gold, I hate smithing too much to even try
*made a road, flooring, or a door.

and... i think that's it. everything else I've done, either by teaching myself with the tips on the bottom right (seriously, why don't people use those? it's how I learned how to make stew and kraut), or watched others do it and copied them when I needed it. I'm not sure how long I've been playing either, but hey, I'm doing pretty good on the list! unless.... im forgetting something...
