I pretty much registered to say something about DT. Isn't that a perfect (or at least very, very good) mechanic!? I haven't suffered murder from griefer or curse anyone yet, but I see the appeal.
When do you know that griefing countermeasures placed by developer are doing the job? When you see multiple post by punished griefers venting on forums and whining for changes, even adding something about them paying for the game. And at the same time everyone else being happy pandas about how DT works.
That is exactly what you expect and such complains are signs of job well done, not a reason to reconsider!
That would be enough, but DT is more! People say in forums how DT changed their perspective, appreciated team work and effort it takes to start a village. They gain skills and get back to society eager to contribute (the rest can rot in DT ). That's more than any rehabilitation program could expect to achieve.
And all with simple and elegant implementation, completely outsourced to players. Kudos, Jason! You did the impossible.
One more thing: even if you didn't get name of your killer, I understand you can look it up in Family Trees and curse them for next 2 hours? Yeah, perfect solution!

I love DT. Sure it can be tweaked but it made playing so much better.
Before, I had to wait for my babies to say F to see their speech bubble (cursed=black bubble). It paused me in my tracks every time a kid popped out of me.
Cursing became an actual voting system that had an effect. Yet, it didn't prevent anyone from playing. The cursed could still play, just not with the people in the community. The community voted them out, they go out. They'll get back anyways.
The community deserves a break from a griefer if they vote for that together.
I also like that you can curse a guy later in the next life if you couldn't before. I've done it.

Yeah, it's a good mechanism over all.
The major tweak I'd like to see is to be able to curse people with longer names also if you are not fully grown up yet. It makes not much sense having to live yet another life to 20 just so you can curse them. If your text stars with /curse NAME it should be doable in any age. Even a baby can give a mean cursing look albeit not being able to speak yet.

Its better than nothing but i dont like the concept

I preferred when donkeys got the full brunt of the punishment. You used to spend an hour in dt for each curse point after 8 so if you managed to get up to 10? Three hours. (You only come back after getting back down to 7 points). In it's current form however you'll always be lowered to 7 once you serve your time (30 minutes first visit, an hour second, and only once you hit 50+ do you serve longer than an hour.)
Unfortunately I understand with streamers being a little more popular they can mob rule random people into donkey town (I've heard threats of this occurring myself.) Between the required thresholds being super far in between (50,100,150,etc) and Jason still not allowing us to curse all members of a group at once there is something to be desired when it comes to combating trolls.
fug it’s Tarr.

I agree. It's good that we have it. I think it's an interesting choice to weave it into the game like this. But it's not perfect. I agree with
- Group curses for multiples (tarr)
- More severe punishment for repeat offenders (tarr)
- Curse as slash command with unlimited text length (lionon)
Streamers mob ruling innocent players to Donkeytown are the last thing this game needs. Do you have a documented example?
