has anyone suggested bees yet?
I'd love to keep bees. You'd have to do something to capture a wild colony, but having them would improve your farming/ berry yield and maybe you'd get honey as a bonus.

my berry pens would get a purpose 
but if they can move on berry bushes might get odd, i mean they still could be blocked by stew plants

I personally think bees would be a great idea! In truth I'd love to see more insects and wildlife in general though.
Though for bees you can get so much from them. Along with them helping your crops you can get honey and wax. Then with the honey you would be able to cook all sorts of goodies.
