Lel. Don't worry, the nightly shutoff is a temporary thing hopefully for a day or two until people realize the server is back up and a thing again. Once we have a solid enough nightly crew to make sure the town isn't utterly wrecked before I can ban any dudes in the morning I'll keep it online 24/7. I really don't want a repeat so soon of the last griefer heh.

Hopefully the town will get so big we can afford the spawn being wrecked

Server back up. I'll see about fixing the name display bug later tonight, will probably leave it on overnight too. If the update occurs, I'll have to work on that too as with practice server.

Edit: Going to DC people in a bit once I get this merged.

Edit: Alright, taken the server down to update for the new client.

Edit: back up. Names are still bugged, I'll update.. eventually xD I just want to play it now haha

I saw the sign, looking good! Just beware the mosquito swarms on the very north road. Trying to barricade it when I can.

Ah yeah, building that road was crazy xD My thoughts were anyone using an out of town road would use a car or horse or something, but a barricade is a good idea too!

I wanted to say a few things;

I love the Yum-On station! I love it! It's a dream. I feel tempted to build walls around it so it stays there forever. Whoever made it, kudos. I didn't even know rabbit/berry/carrot pie was a thing!

I love how people are building their homes... Never seen that before. And I don't mean the suburbs, where people make another town, but just the little individual homes with no purpose. I'll have to make my own. I was "living" in the abandoned Grizzly Palace ruins. But someone murdered my pet bears, Bonnie and Clyde, so now I avoid that place.

I started a zoo, north of the northern town. I've never done that. If someone has any advice, please help. Is there a way to bring a living wolf? (But not the tame wolf, as it dies).

After that bad update recently I would have probably stopped playing OHOL if it wasn't for this server. Thanks so much for making it possible.

Yeah the history of the yum-on is pretty interesting. I got the idea to start that above the bakery, and the sign was originally going to be "Yum-Only". But I ran out of letters so it was Yum-on, and then people liked that better. Back then I think it had like 20 pieces of food, mostly forage. But then it was too close to the bakery, and people were confused, so I moved it to where it is now..

I don't really like the location, it's partway on a glacier, but It's just way too big to move now xD

I wouldn't know about snakes and wolves. I think you may have to start your zoo around some

Edit: Btw, going to look into better communication soon. Usually the server only has 1-8 people, spread out over a gigantic city, and usually when I feel like talking, sometmies I just think "screw it" xD

So either discord, or a chat mod. Most likely I will be way too lazy for the chat mod, but I may get to it.

Hah, I saw that too, that's my apron when I logged out there after seeing it. There's two jason heads activated. I was going to just deactivate the apocalypse on the next update tomorrow/friday, but I guess I'll just do it now xD

It's pretty much impossible to get the apocalypse rolling, though.

Fixed the discord link, didn't realize it was set to expire in one day as someone told me on steam. Lemme know in this thread if there's other issues with the discord, I've never made a channel.

Name bugs fixed and pushed, will be live when I update the server on friday for jason's changes. If you were Aaby, you'll be something hopefully more interesting xD

I made that in OCS just to demonstrate it in some thread. I've been making those in the official servers when snowballs became a thing but haven't played there for some time.

Any tips for new players on this server? What are the biggest needs? unwritten rules? I just checked it out, very nice. I made some pie, in xxyx? town, but died before I could sort them by kind.

I would say, just common decency should get you pretty far on One City Server.

Be polite to other people that you meet and don't mess with the private houses.

Don't be intentionally wasteful or destructive, but as a general rule, resources are plentiful.

Contribute to the yum spot, if you feel like it.

Find a project to work on or create your own - build a house, make a road, construct a car or a radio, whatever you want.

I'm not sure if this was solved on the discord, but is there a way to change the Eve name you get? Currently whatever I name myself, it always turns out as Eve , Actually!.

Ah yeah, so your name is permanent, and you probably said "I am, Actually" at some point. That said, we changed the only viable naming phrase to "My Name Is" so this doesn' happen anymore, and I can erase your old name. I thought I erased al the goofy ones last time, but perhaps I missed yours.
