Rejoice, he does listen sometimes and he did good this time.

No longer will we have to berate newbies for watering the carrots (as often as now) or scattering seeds heads across the open field.

Also, for those that said they'd cry if they could stack carrots, well here it is.

I'd honestly rather him invest in the next tier of containers like a cloth sack that holds just as many carrots/iron/whatever but is movable. Don't get me wrong stacking stuff is always a good thing but all our problems are solved via early game. You got too many carrots? Stack them because why not.

Eventually when he gets around to making upgraded containers they'll either have to be even better or they'll just not get used what so ever since everything is slowly being mushed into stacking it or jamming it in a bowl. Weirdest thing I find about the update is you can either remove milkweed one at a time by tossing it in a fire or five at a time by washing the seeds out of a bowl.

Properly managed, the one-item-per-tile clutter of carrots and seeds isn't too bad, as long as it's done on the edge of town so that you make carrot biomes extending out into unused space. It's annoying but not unworkable.

But stacking them will still be much, much better.

Stackable carrots are convenient and compacted. I think the stack is 5 carrots in a tile vs. 3 carrots in a basket... Which uses up a basket. It saves a lot of space having them stacked rather than losing free space because of multiple single carrots plus going far to find a single carrot compared to say multiple piles of them nearby town.

A town I was in yesterday, I had 2 wood boxes in between the berry farm and carrot farm. We also made wheat nearby and the compost was made right there.. I had 4 baskets in each and tried to keep all filled with carrots. Keeping 8 baskets full made it easy to produce poop and have plenty of compost going. I tried to keep between 8-10 piles of compost at all times.  I had a problem with people wanting to steal those baskets, especially young kids.

I had 4 baskets set out refilling with carrots to take up to the wood box. A lady came and snatched a basket up, I told her to leave it, it gets filled with carrots and goes in the box above.  She said well, I need it. I said so do I. I made them, brought them down here and am clearly using them. Go find another, or make another one. She started to walk off with it, I pulled my knife out and chased her until she dropped it lmao.. No one messed with my baskets afterwards! haha I hate when people clearly see I have things laid out to use on what I'm working on and they think they can just come up and take what you have because they are working on something too. Like seriously, I will get all stabby on you!
