Here is what Jason says about servers.
I understand it is a tool for load balancing but he would prefer all players on same server.

What we had:  players spread out onto three or four servers for load-balancing purposes.  During peak times, this was necessary to prevent any individual server from becoming too overloaded.  During off-peak times, we kept sending players to all the p7reviously-active servers to avoid any one server dying out unfairly (see the earlier Population Stabilization update).  But this meant that during off-peak times, even with plenty of people still playing, the population on each server got a little thin.

What we want:  everyone playing on one server, together, all the time.

I think you might have read that a little too literally and/or missed the context of Jason's statement.  Another clue about the a literal interpretation not working was that he said 'we'.  He clearly meant to talk about players not choosing a custom server.  He didn't disable private servers, and kept all 15 of them.  So, perhaps the intent of his statement was more like "Given that people don't choose a custom server, we (meaning Jason) want everyone on the same server."  Given that sort of context, that doesn't mean he doesn't want people playing on other public servers.  Also, I'll note that this weekend people were appearing on server15 in mass at some point in time.

To Bob101, and breezeknight, and anyone else considering a server7 apocalypse... I ask that you please leave the towns on server7 alone.

Re: Asking names on server 7

I think an apocalypse on server7 is exactly what's called for, and is the perfect reaction to a town that is excluding the general population.

Some players don't like having other players around and are using the game mechanics to get what they want. Other players don't like that those players are being exclusive... and so they should use the game mechanics to get what they want.

Good for the goose, good for the gander.

Re: Asking names on server 7

i don't really know spoon, i played s5 and s12
chances that you get to my town are subtle

most good towns pre update are bad now as the hot biomes are bad so an apocalypse on each would be welcome

but you get what i say, even if you got something there, you can get it, once you are rejected, you spawn as eve
then you can do whatever

The big town on server7 did NOT become a worse town due to the temperature overhaul as I recall.  People have started new towns since the temperature overhaul also.

Getting fed as an infant is different from making the apocalypse happen.

Also, if you want to get born into a town and that is truly what you want, the LAST thing you would want is the apocalypse to happen, since it makes for a technological and animal reset.  There are no towns when that happens.  So, no, I don't think that what you suggest comes as all that similar.

Edit:

Also, the original post said:

I'm running into issues with Eve's letting babies die if the baby doesn't provide a discord user name they recognize.

This is making playing the game next to impossible, as we're unable to live in a community and help it grow. The only option is to hope you spawn as an Eve.

Well, if the apocalypse happens, then basically you and everyone is an Eve (or "child Eve" or Adam or "child Adam").  So, making the apocalypse happen would raise the difficulty in the same way that the player worries about.
