Recalling a Fun Life I had a While Back

When I'm born into a big city as a girl, I will often grab a berry and run away as soon as I turn three and "Eve" it as they say. One advantage of this is that you get an extra 11 minutes to get things going before you have to even worry about raising kids.

Usually, my goal is to find a good spot and make my fire-making tools by the time I find it. This time, I set out with a different goal; I set out in search of a nice prairie next to a grassland. I made the fire tools and made two nooses and started hunting rabbits to make backpacks.

By the time I had my kids , I almost had a backpack done and I had cooked rabbits to eat. Every time I had a kid, I just told it that I'm a nomadic rabbit hunter and I was working on a backpack for them in our temporary camp.

One of my daughters was very cooperative, and started running around grabbing up rabbits while I raised babies and enjoyed sewing by the fire.

My idea behind this was that if a couple of kids had backpacks, tools,  and baskets starting out, they would have a higher chance of success when looking for a good settlement location. Once they found one, they would be able to get things going really quickly with a large inventory space and tools already made.

I got old by my campfire and my kids inherited plenty of nice tools. I think there were two or three of them with backpacks, baskets, and a little bit of clothing. I told my kids that I was going to die of old age at my camp, and that they should move on in search of the promised land.

And guess what?! They went on to continue the lineage for 40+ generations. I was a generation 40 something girl, so my split effectively doubled our Eve's lineage. The town I left behind actually didn't survive much longer after I left.

I just wanted to share my story:) Try out this play-style or let me know if you already have. Alternatively, comment your interesting stories if you feel like sharing!

That's so cool. I think I would have enjoyed being one of your kids. It's neat when your parent has somthing in mind for you that isn't just run of the mill "do whatever pick berries be a farmer"

Re: Recalling a Fun Life I had a While Back

This is one of my favorite playstyles, although I don't think it's a good option atm due to how the fertility mechanic currently works. Last I read, warm moms with bigger yum chains were prioritized, meaning babies tend to be born into more developed cities with rooms, clothing, and more food options. I could be wrong. Glad it worked for you, though!

If I don't feel like living in a city, I will almost alway start an outpost, even if I'm not confident I'll have kids. I figure it's always nice to give someone else a foundation if the town gets griefed or someone gets lost.

My favorite game where I "eved" I was actually a boy, and convinced others, including females, to come with me to start a new town. It started a huge back-and-forth lineage split that populated and repopulated two cities (Storm City and Cafe Town) over the course of 50 generations and (I think) multiple Eves.

This is from back when the forums seemed to be much more active. /sigh
