isnt this a good opportunity to make skins decay? new clothes are expensive.
Offline
You mean the Seal and Sheep skin, which can be worn?
But they are so weak as insulation compared to other clothes....

Mufflon too, this one is better.
They are indeed weak but after you get a bunch of them you have this weird "should i make a coat?" scenario in which both options feel bad. Plus I think all clothes should decay, the best the slowest (specially if dyed).

I think it would be nice solely because you can't get rid of them, aside from running 5 minutes in one direction and dropping them off, which is annoying. Mouflon and sheep skins are just a nuisance for me, personally; always have been. But I might be the only one with this gripe.
Believe you're right, but don't believe you can't be wrong.

I like them despite being weak because of looks but you bring a good point.

Yeah, they can look nice, or funny. And they have a purpose, but once you have better clothes, then what do you do with them? If you have properly insulating clothes, then you're just wasting food if you're wearing them. But you can't do anything else with them, except for sheep skin. You can turn that into a saddle, which again, will last for eternity.
Believe you're right, but don't believe you can't be wrong.

That might be a you problem. Mouflon hide is one of two Eve accessible tops with the sealskin being the other. Mouflon hide requires a bow + arrow which means at max Eve can carry two of them at a time (one on herself, and one in her hands or on a baby she carries.) The only other no thread/needle clothing options for Eve are a turkey hat (no insulation but gives a small bonus due to covering your head) and a reed skirt.
Instead of nerfing the insulation value on mouflon hides just make them less common and what not.

why nerf anything past decay though? these arent op, I mentioned decay for consistency tbh

Because I presumed that is the part of the hide he would hit like he originally did with the sheep skin/seal skin originally when he halved their value from what the mouflon hides value is to their new values.

I never said anything about nerfing their insulation value. This is the reason why I hate to use the forums.
I also added additional clarification a little later on that I am fully aware that they have a purpose, and I'm not saying to make any changes to it. I personally believe that it would be nice to be able to get rid of them if they are no longer necessary. That was the whole reason for my post.
Also, I had already acknowledged that I may very well be the only person with the gripe, but thank you for reiterating.

Whoops, I just nerfed the insulation value. All three skins should be the same, and they are now....
Offline
Yeah, now that they serve no real purpose they might as well decay or have some sort of way to dispose of them.

Deleted old message, as I couldn't find a way to change it to say what I was intending without changing the whole thing.
@jasonrohrer
Will the change come with a means to dispose, or use up unneeded hides? Or will they continue to last for eternity?

Ya know I kind of expected these new clothes to be undurable but very easy to produce.
Can't say the other way around is good too. Will take twice as much time to clothe everyone in woolies, but now the clothes will last!

Hey bud, you nerfed the wrong thing

The hides had a hierarchy all serving a different purpose before you went and killed mouflon hides.
Sheep skin is spammable. It's very easy to mass produce a 10.5% insulation chest piece by just feeding sheep and covering all the children/shirtless adults.
Seal skins either exist in a state of infinite use or you could upgrade them to the best chest piece which means they're okay early and great late.
Mouflon hides existed as the best non-decaying chest piece which required you to hunt a bunch of hides and haul them back and forth. Now it's better to just rush sheep even faster rather than trying to take a bit of the early game pressure off with hides. I would rather see the mouflon hide decay after five hours into nothingness so it's role would be something you hunt early (like you do now) to relieve some of the pressure presheep. I knew as soon as this was pointed out that mouflon hides were going to get their insulation cut in half and end up as dead content.

Bowler hat seems quite op. Same insulation of wool hat but 4x more efficient to make.

Only thing I noticed is that
dye-ready top hat, bowler hat, and shorts have different sprites,
but
dye-ready shirt, skirt, etc are all just a crumple. Which might be intended, just pointing it out.
Also, top hat, and we have glass, but no monocle? XD
Likes sword based eve names. Claymore, blades, sword. Never understimate the blades!
Offline
Yes, the crumple is intentional for the long clothes. The are really long! They look weird on the ground, or in your hand even.

Personally, I'm just excited to saunter around in a black or red dress and try to seduce the men of my camp
And to get married in a [white dress / black pants and white shirt]
Plus, cross-dressing is definitely a perk!

Also, we need some kind of fashion. Before this update we were just running around in whatever we could find.
But soon, this will become the reality:
F a s h i o n! It's unavoidable!

Is there a reason trousers, which has the advantage of holding a small item, also has the same insulation as the other new legwear?

Hay Jason I think when you turn
fleece into thread you should turn a fleece into a small ball of yarn. this would be more accurate in that a fleece shouldn't = a ball of thread and also it would make this clothing slightly cheaper.... and you shear the small ball of yarn it turns into the ball of thread.
