A new things I've learned about Eve-ing is to save some "at camp" tasks for when you have kids. Before they are born focus on gathering the supplies, that way when you have a kid everything is there to make the bellows or plant a farm. It's the worst when you have a kid and need a skewer or a round rock or whatever and feel like you have to just stand there, so maybe you run around to show them the area (not possible with two kids) worst case one can always take branches off of trees and maybe make stanchion kits to get more kindle back (just bring the kid to the area with the right trees, don't try to bring it back)
Beyond being Eve, light smithing, making stew, pies, watering plants, and again, removing branches from trees are my go to "bring your kid to work" jobs.
What are your favorite kinds of work to do with a baby?
It's also possible to do things like hunt and explore, but you have to keep an eye on dense food sources like cluster of berry bushes or bananas so you have a place to park everyone if you have multiple kids.

I once had a back pack filled with knives and took them apart and made them in to shears and hoes while my baby was standing there and they hated it for some reason.
unrelated: is it the case that you can recycle a chisel even after you use it a bit? If so, should we recycle all chisels before they break to save 1/2 iron?

Hunting rabbits is fun with a kid. I think they tend to stick around more if they see a fully fur-clad hunter mom. There's a lot of waiting involved so it's easy to set your traps and hold your kid for a while while the rabbits go through their agonizingly slow death. If you have a flint and thread you can clothe your kid right then and there.
I am absolutely in awe of successful forgemothers. I don't know how they churn out tools and keep a baby fed. I can barely keep from swapping the wrong objects much less pay attention to another human being on a short hunger timer.

it's too much to bother
much more important is to collect all the broken steel tools
i wish all players would learn, that bringing broken steel tools to forge is a good thing to do
