The problem with cars and planes

Making a car is kind of like making something just for yourself. Making a sheep pen is for everyone, so are buildings, even with a horse cart it's easy to get more lassos once you have a horse and my first action after getting one is to get another.

The car is a huge investment for something that just one person can use. What is the solution? Trains? Cars that many people can ride? That all sounds fanciful. But, I have an idea we could do right now.

What if we just made more? Mass production. Don't aim to make one car plan on making two or even four. This would make others more likely to help you.

"I'm making three cars at once, can you help by getting..." will probably get more support from others than "I'm making this one car" (for me, maybe you can try it IDK)

I have only helped with making cars and there are some steps I don't know about yet. Is this possible? Can we set it as a goal? First person to post a photo of 4 cars in a vanilla town will get to be called "pro" by me.

This seems kind of silly.  Diesel water pumps have more useful.  I could make multiple cars on a low pop server, though I'm not so sure that's what you had in mind.  If you try to make multiple cars, you almost surely can use oil set up first and a diesel water pump.

Also, please do the oil before starting to make the car parts.  Oil has more uses, since you can upgrade a charcoal pump to a kerosone pump fairly quickly once you have oil set up.  I think you only need wick housing (which requires one steel and a rope) to upgrade the charcoal pump to a kerosone pump.   But, if you're trying to make the engine first, then you have diesel parts that can't do anything until you have kerosone.  And to speak clearly, by 'set up' I mean that you have some tanks of kerosone.

Additionally if you can make a diesel water engine, you can almost surely make a car, since the unpowered crude car isn't that complex once you have the rubber.

I agree, Does seem like Jason is leaning towards more private ownership however.


BUT cars are still way too difficult given that they are just faster horses that eat kerosene. The individual isn't gonna spend their entire life building one car.

In the future I'm hoping for some better machines, Rollers, Hammars, Bores, Lathes etc. Maybe even a machines that just assemble diesel engines, Only needing us to gather resources. It's like how the ball of thread makes clothes making more efficient.

as long the towns are dysfuncitonal is every fancy stuff just that, fancy "i am a bored player" temporary solution

also planes are far more practical than cars
by plane you hob from one town to another, thus wasting no time in between

the situation would change if the car would become a true transportation vehicle & not just a fast sports car to show off

a cargo plane would be probably the most optimal transportation option

the game lacks in many areas, mass production of cars is not really my main priority, sorry

rather production of planes & landing pads in every town smile

it takes like 90 min to make a car even on a good setup, i guess it's less with a perfect setup but i never seen those
sometimes i make very nice setups, so anyone who comes, can make the car with a bit of luck
like made 4-5 cars on public server (never tried eve chaining myself)
only once i had the luck to get back to a place where i made the perquisites
also if im female, or if it's the kiln that the eve made and everything is around it, gonna be your biggest regret if you even attempt to make one

lot of times just i forgot things and needed 10-15 extra minutes when i thought im done
and if you ever consider helping others you are doomed
if the fire is going and you got the bucket, basket, the iron, then just do it until is ready, so that why females are disadvantaged,  people talk to them, babies follow them and if they left to starve they even grief and murder for it.
