I've been put soil in every back pack I touch if I make the pack I do it right before I die. If I inherit it I do it right away. In my last life I know I did it because creepy man gave me a pack full of knives as a kid. "go nuts kid" I hate that, but I'll take the knives. I was worried about some one switching my pack so I kept away from people till old enough then quickly made two knives in to shears. Recycled one. And hurried out of town to an isolated soil pile to refresh the pack. I was very worried about the pack decaying when I was little and spraying knives all over the place. But, I was able to get some soil in it. Get the knife back and go on with the life.
Well that pack decayed when I was about 50. Shouldn't that not happen if you used it to move soil?

Weird. I guess backpacks might be the exception to the rule? Most things in game when changing states will refresh the decay time.
Everything else (dyeing items, stacking and unstacking baskets, adding wheels to a handcart, or adding a second wheel to a wheelbarrow) resets the decay timer.
fug it’s Tarr.

yeah i seen it too, doesn't seem to change state, maybe because it's a container? the basket wont get fixed by using for soil either so maybe something with that
anyway it's a bug
it would be nice to fix up a tattered pack cheaper
take dow your pack and click little hope with it, you get a good pack
