Working on forum search

I'm in the process of getting the Sphinx search engine working.... in the mean time, search is broken.

Okay, the Sphinx-based search seems to be working now.

You can search for "a multi-word phrase" using quotes, and it works nicely.

Is there a straight-forward way to add "spoiler" tags to FluxBB?  Let me know if you find more info.

Just be very very careful you don't overrite common.php in includes instead of lang and nuke your other mods like I did. wink

Unfortunately, this mod needs to be installed by hand by mucking with the code all over the place:

Probably not worth it to "break" the vanilla install in this way.

You can use gray text for spoilers... by doing this:

Umm, so I tend to scan forum posts on the discord, and then click on ones I find interesting.  As of right now (but not earlier today), it no longer works correctly.

When I click on a new forum post, it takes me to the first post on the thread, rather than the new post I was interested in.  When a forum thread gets really long (like the anti-fence thread), not jumping to the post I was interested in can be quite annoying. 

I assume this broke because of something that changed with the forum search improvements???

Are you sure this ever worked?  Because I didn't change any aspect of that on the forums... just search.

In order to get post-jump to work on subsequent pages, I need to use this other URL format:

But it doesn't look like that was ever part of the RSS feed, was it?
