Fence Suggestion: no more windows of vulnerability...

Any fence you create will have a window of vulnerability where anyone with a sharp rock can get in. At this stage you must hit it with a round rock to keep it going. My suggestion is that you should be able to hit the fence preemptively and that resets the timer so if someone is watching a fence and minding it there is no time where it can be broken in to. The fact that all a person need do is wait and attack ANY one of the tiles of a fence makes big fences pointless.  If they want in they just need to hover around until one fence is shaky and break in. (Might make more sense to build all sides with gates?)

If someone cares enough to keep bonking it, seems like that should be possible.

Though, maybe don't change this since as it stands fences are not very useful and will probably be rare in a week or two, and I can't say I wouldn't mind that right now. But, I want to make new content work. That's just how I come at games so I'm mentioning this anyway.

Example:

A family makes a crown and a bow and put it with Eve's grave in a little enclosure. The family is very vigilant and keeps the gate shut and the enclosure is just 3 tiles. Even if someone check on it every 5 min. Bob the usurper can hover around and steal the crown and wreck the grave and take the bow to do some murders. Hiding the bow, keeping the crown on your head and putting the grave in a remote spot seems more likely to keep them around for longer.

Has any fence lasted more than one or two generations? Given that they don't help you much in the life that you make them the fact that most crumble even with heirs seems to indicate that it's too easy to wreck them.

You can't destroy rickety fences, there's no reason to patrol vigilantly. Once a fence goes past the approved state it cannot be destroyed unless it is left alone and it decays.
