I had the most serendipitous experience yesterday, when my mother named me.

I didn't know that naming was a new functionality; I simply thought my Mom was being kind.

But she named me Clark, and my actual name in real life is actually Clark.

I couldn't believe it; the odds are against such a thing, to say the least.

I expected being able to name each other would increase immersion, but I didn't expect anything of this sort.

This is a truly lovely game.

I was watching Steve Dutzy play on launch day, and TWICE he had his mother say "HI STEVE" to him. It freaked him out.

It's a nice touch, It definitely helps telling people apart. Plus it makes me feel more like an individual and unique person rather than just another member of the village hivemind.

Every time I give my baby a name, it fucks up, I cannot name him a name without game's intervention. Even bobobobobobo has been change into bobby. Christ, I have killed so many of my babies because they had the wrong name. The only kid that had a normal name was jesus

Jeez, don't kill your kid because of their name.
I rather like how the game picks something itself. I'm not so good a thinking of names or spelling, so I can just say something and the kid will get a real name regardless.

The game has a long list of names you can give kids If your name isn't on the list your kid will get the closest name to it. It prevents mothers from just giving kids troll names.
