Hi!
I just bought the game and installed it. When i opened up the game it started to update it but it couldn't finish the update. It says:
"Failed to update game: Move game folder somewhere that is not read-only."
So i googled it and read on a post here on this forum to move the game folder to the desktop. Which i have now done but it still doesn't work. I have re-installed it once again.
Can someone please help me what to do?
I have windows btw!

For me it always workes to just start the game again after the error message closes the game. (without moving the files)
Even though it says it failed to update, it actually didn't fail...

Its just some bug. I just remove read-only properties from game folder and all files in.
Select game directory
Right-click
Properties
uncheck "Read-only" property
Press "Apply"
next will be an option "Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files" just press "OK"
close the folder properties window

It always re-check the "read only" property checkbox, if i right-click on the folder, properties.
I have already tried in different folders, desktop, download, another drive. I cant play ((
Can anyone help me?

I had the same problem. You need to set the read only attribute from a command shell. It doesn't work from windows explorer.
run cmd.exe.
then use the attrib command as follows
attrib -r foldername
for example I typed in the following:
attrib -r E:\games\one_hour_one_life\OneLife_v65
If that doesn't work, try running the command shell as administrator.
